Our boy is now 5 days old and for the last day or 2 he has started leaking wee through the legs of his nappies! I’ve had to change his clothes 4 times just today 😫
He was born quite a bit smaller than he was expected to be so he doesn’t quite seem to fit very well in his nappy’s but they are the smallest size; currently using boots brand. We do have some pampers that have been bought for us which are smaller but we’re reluctant to try them as they’re pampers and all I’ve ever heard about pampers is that they cause horrible rashes.
We’re doing all the tricks we’ve been told (make sure he is pointing down in his nappy, making sure the skirts of the nappy are pulled out properly) but just wondered if there is anything we’re doing wrong or if it’s a sizing issue (also, does anyone have anything good to say about pampers?!)

Pampers nappies are pretty good, my only problem with them is that they’re expensive and sometimes not worth it. I’ve been using pampers premium and baby dry and mammia (aldi brand) and found pampers pull ups a bit better for night time once we got to size 4, but otherwise both work perfectly well for us

We had one bad rash in 18 months. Sometimes it happens no matter what you do. Lots of nappy free time and a good cream resolved it

I hated pampers due to bad nappy rashes like you said. My daughter was born prem weighing 5lbs 5oz and we used Fred and Flo from the beginning and they do size 0 nappies and we’ve never had issues with them.
Nutmeg (Morrisons) also do size 0 which were good as well until we got to the bigger sizes x

We went through a stage of constant leaking nappies with my little girl. Fred and Flo nappies are brilliant and always worked well for us!

I've only ever used pampers on my now 3 year old. No rashes ever. Used with water wipes or cotton wool with water to clean. Nothing scented.
My girl has been fine, no leaks apart from the odd poonami 😆

We had the same problem with our little boy, he would leak almost every night until we used pampers size 2s. We never had any issues with pampers, they were the only ones that worked until he reached size 4+ and started leaking again! We tried different brands including Tesco’s but Sainsbury’s “little ones” haven’t leaked at all!

We’ve used almost every brand of nappy and only had an issue with rashing around my LB legs in a size 3 pamper- he’s never had a rash from them anywhere else. I really like pampers nappies, we’ve not had any issues with leaks since he hit a size2 and they do hold the most out of all brands- He’s just currently not fitting a size 3 without a rash and a size 4 are way too big on him so they’re a no go for us right now.
We started in size 0 pampers even though my baby was born 7lb 3oz so showing as a size 1 - he had long spindly legs so he needed something more secure but I’m sure the boots size 0s are smaller and we switched to these.
If neither of these are working for you then I would say just to try another brand and see how you get on!
For us ones we know he’ll always leak from are nutmeg and Fred and Flo, he seems best suited Lidl 🤷🏼♀️ each baby is different and the leaking will stop as your baby gets a little bigger 🥰xx

I’ve used pampers for 2 children and never had issues with rashes

It honestly just depends per child. Pampers nappies were AWFULLL for my boy every single one leaked without fail. We used mamia from Aldi and they were ok for size 1&2 and then they leaked again at 3 so I was trying every brand like a crazy lady until we found another one that worked🤦🏼♀️

First stage Aldi were brilliant for us and they've just been improved. I don't remember even one time I had to clean / change my LO.
Is he on formula? Could that not be agreeing with him....

Thank you everyone! We have had him in pampers overnight as that’s all we had in that size and no leaks, so think it’s a sizing issue 🤞 probably going to buy another brand in that size just in case any issues pop up! 🩵

We LOVE pampers! I’d definitely give them a try because everyone seems to have a different favourite 😊
Boys are also bigger wetters so you may need to change his nappy more often that a girl or even go up a size. We went up to a size 2 even tho they were too big but it worked great x
