Nighttime baby screaming for 2 hours

I feel like such a failure. I had my first breakdown last night. No matter what I do she just doesn't seem to settle after a feed. Ive tried infacol, offering more milk etc she goes to drift off then just screams. After each feed at night she's like this but during the day she just sleeps no issues. I try getting her outside but she's asleep so that's not working. I just feel like such a failure. My poor baby is 3 weeks and i dont want to get depressed over night times 😭

Hey šŸ‘‹ your not alone! I’m finding nights tough too, he sleeps all day and then night times he doesn’t scream but is unsettled /disturbed, I think it’s wind, if it doesn’t go up it has to go down which is more painful, so I am going to try infacol, they say you need to give it every day, failing that a midwife said use grip water but make sure it’s newborn appropriate, I do cycling & figure of 8 with his bum and hips (like a belly dancer) which helps.
Your not a failure every one is going through the same or will do at some point, a midwife the other day said if crying gets too much, leave the room for a few minutes, take a breath or make a tea, she said letting the baby self cry for a few minute whilst you get your self together doesn’t hurt them but will help you calm yourself and think straight,
My friend uses a doula for a few hours which gives her advice but also gives her time to have a few hours to her self they are about £20 an hour and could do a few hours in the evening for..

I feel your pain with this, I’m having the exact same. It’s so disheartening and I had such a breakdown last night too so definitely not alone there! šŸ«¶šŸ¼

I find nights tough too little one doesn’t settle. In the day sleeps well. Midwife said to put on white noise as to quiet at night and to tilt the next to me to reduce reflux. I’m going to try tonight!

Autism

I have been noticing everyone I know that as a boy 2-5 years has been diagnosed with autism. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe I’m just noticing this out of concern for my 10 month old boy.

Swing or bassinet

We've been co-sleeping/bed-sharing with our one month old (5 weeks tomorrow) since she and I came home from the hospital. While I love the cuddles I do want our bed back too. I will add too, that we try to make it as safe as possible and want her in a safe situation. She doesn't like sleeping by herself, however we've been putting her in her swing (pic below) close to daily, since she came home and at first she only liked it for a few minutes, now it could be an hour, before she protests, asleep or awake! She likes the music and rocking motion it seems and seems fascinated by the mobile when she's awake and not sleepy. We can probably get her used to the bassinet in a similar way, but I'm wondering if we should just get two of these? My husband says the music would drive him crazy, lol, but we could just do it with white noise and see if it has the same effect. He's saying it's probably good for her to learn how to sleep in different conditions. I do agree, as our older daughter can't take naps at friends' houses and stuff. Just not sure of the best route here. Anyway tia!

How often is your baby waking up in the night?

My baby is 5 months old and waking up every 3 hours. Some nights he could do a 4 hour stretch and some he would do just 2. It’s a bit all over the place to be honest. Is it normal for so many wake ups at this age? What is everyone else’s baby doing?

How do you cosleep?

I know all about sleep safe 7, the dangers of cosleeping etc etc, but there seems to be a huge difference between online and people I meet in real life. Most people I know report cosleeping, but online its villainised more.
No judgement here - I'm just genuinely curious what people are actually doing!

Comments if its something different.

Our baby has her own cot. She sleeps well in it until early morning and then only sleeps if shes on/next to me. I'll also admit to having fallen asleep breastfeeding several times (no lectures, she's safe - but other people have said they've done the same).
