How long did it take for it to click a little bit? I've been following the oh crap method and we've done 3 days nappy free now. Day 1 he was aware he was doing a wee/poo but just held it everytime I moved him to the potty, so we just had dribbles of wee on the floor all day 😂 day 2 in the morning he managed to finish his wee in the potty. However since then he's just started holding it as soon as I move him to the potty, then once the nappy goes on for a nap/bed the tap opens up. We're no entering day 4 and whilst I know it can take a while I feel very deflated and exhausted watching like a hawk all day for those dribbles 😂

I think it depends on how much time you want to invest. I left my eldest to the summer before she turned three as she just wasn’t interested and I couldn’t cope with following her all day. Did it within a day. Maybe take the pressure off and just wait again. They are still little!

Same as above, I tried when my eldest was 2 and she became petrified of the potty and when she had an accident it really stressed her out, we literally stopped a day after trying. So tried it again at 2.5 years old and she got it that day, not a single accident. I think the earlier you do it the longer it will take x

My lo was showing all the signs she was ready before we started like telling me she needed a wee etc before she needed to go and by day 2 she was completely clean in the day and has been for a month until she had a uti last week and it hurt when she went for a wee now she is scared of going for a wee on the potty and the toilet and we’ve had to go back to nappies in the day because she will just hold her wee. The only wee she will do without a nappy on currently is a wild wee. I’m not going to pressure her though and will wait until she is ready again to use the toilet/potty

We also followed the oh crap booked and same, was quite deflated after three days. According to the book, block 1 should take up to three days but we didn't seem to be anywhere near. Although she was telling us when needing to go, as soon as we would reach the potty, she'd be scared of releasing but would then pee/poop on the floor as soon as off it.
I had to actively hold her on there a couple a times and then sort of like a miracle, she started releasing!
Tricks we tried to help her relax on the toilet or potty: blow bubbles (with her blowing as it helps push pee/poop out), play with bubble wrap (very successful as she'd focus all her energy bursting bubbles).
We're now just over a week in and she's going by herself and no accident in a couple of days. It's still very early days and I know it can all change and they'll be set backs but just want to say not to worry after just a few days. They will suddenly get it out of nowhere!

we’re entering day 5 of the oh crap method and needed to hear this, thank you. We’ve definitely seen progress but I was expecting to be out of block one by now, yet no poo in the potty yet 🙁

We tried our 23 month old using Andrea Oleson's method which is very similar to oh crap (bare bum in the house etc) over 2 weeks there, and she was just too anxious. She refused the potty point blank, back arching, screaming when we tried to lift her on and got very upset when she had accidents.
Technically she is ready with all the tick box signs ( she know when pee or poo is coming, knows when she's had an accident and doesn't like it and says sorry abd she tells us when asked that pee and poo go in the potty) but emotionally she has a block somewhere. I'm leaving it for now and will revisit at 2 and a half I think x
