Do you have to wake your baby?

My son likes to freak out and scream in the middle of the night with his eyes closed. That started when he was about 6 months old. He's 7 months now. We also hit a nasty sleep regression during that time when he got his second tooth. We just transitioned him this weekend into his crib in his room and he's mostly doing better but around 1:00 a.m. He likes to wake up and think that it's play time and he usually settles fairly quickly and then around 3:30. This morning he woke up laughing and it took about a half hour for him to go back down.. the screaming while he slept. I was just assuming it was because he rolled to his belly and is a potato and doesn't like rolling back. He knows how he just chooses not to and when he gets over onto his stomach even during the day he flips out

My friend had this happen with her son - night terrors except poor thing wasn't able to wake him up from them just had to wait. They go away as they get older but definitely normal.
Must be a bit freaky though 😅
