Hi all! My partner and I really like the name Roscoe for a boy. It is a Cornish name originating from the Old Norse words for deer wood. I quite like nature related names, I like the way it sounds and goes well with sister Astrid. It does have some negative associations which is making us double think. What are your first thoughts?

Roscoe has always been a favourite of ours - but it didn’t flow with our surname.
They can be called Ross when older if they don’t like it

My husband likes Roscoe and added it to the list for us. I don’t like the idea of shortened to Ross.
Curious what the negative association are thank you!

I am not sure how it would be pronounced (didn’t come across this before), but couldn’t it sound a bit like “rascal”?
Thanks for your responses! Surname would be Hunt so I think it would flow well.

Some of these comments are hilarious! I would never get someone’s opinion on a name if you like it go for it!
We never told families are chosen names until we announced their arrival! I would hate for someone to say something negative about sometime that was so important to us
