My LO turned 6 weeks a few days ago. I have been EBF since the beginning. Is it normal for breastfeeding to still be so painful by now. My LO had a tongue tie which we have had cut two weeks ago. I was hoping once this was done we would see a difference to her latching but it still feels just as painful. I have tried what seems to be everything to get her position right. She is now putting on weight each week so I know sheās feeding ok. My breasts are so sore even when sheās not feeding now. I have tried the silver cups and cream but they donāt seem to do much. Any one else been in this position. Will it get any easierš

Has the tongue tie come back? Iāve heard it can heal back again?
But ultimately it shouldnāt just. If recommend going ti a breastfeeding cafe. They can be a big help!
My nipples are similar, and I know itās to do with my sonās latch which we need to try and sort out. He takes in extra air and doesnāt stay on the boob all the time š¤¦š»āāļø

It shouldnāt be painful, it should feel like a tugging sensation but not painful. I think I would contact HV or if you have a local infant feeding team for some advice. We had a poor latch so I went to our local breastfeeding group for advice which has helped massively x

I have a 6 week old and Iām also still in pain ā exclusively breastfeeding since the beginning. I have seen a lactation consultant who confirmed that his latch is good. Weāve also checked for tongue tie but we were reassured that his tongue movement is good. At the beginning, the pain was mainly on my nipple but now itās mainly on my areola. I went to see the lactation consultant again and she said that the area is sensitive so itās normal to feel some pain. The issue I have is my nipples are too large for my babyās palette. I was advised to use a nipple shield to ease the pain
I definitely recommend going to a breastfeeding drop in clinic. I was on the verge of stopping but they really help me keep going.

I still get odd pains but it was due to a shallow latch which we have worked on with a lactation consultant. Now itās not as bad as the first weeks
