So my little boy is turning 3 next month and this past week he’s been waking up scared and talking to himself.
He sleeps in his own room, I sit with him until he falls asleep, read to him and then leave. Some nights he sleeps through and other nights he wakes up crying, I come in, give him a kiss and tuck him in and normally he’ll fall straight back to sleep. His sleep has always been really bad due to his skin issues and allergies so waking up 1-2 times is normal for us but it’s getting better.
However recently instead of waking up just crying a little, He’s waking up in hysterics, screaming and confused and talking random words, and it’s taking much longer to get him back to sleep.
I dont know what to do, i dont know how to encourage him to start sleeping through, i dont know why he wakes up crying every night and morning.
When your toddlers wake up for the day do they wake up happy or crying? And are these night terrors normal for this age? Anyone else been through the same thing?
Also I put him to sleep around 8 and he’s up by 5:30-6am every day. I’m struggling with the early wakes, is there any tips for that pls 😂

My daughter is 3 end of this month and she’s having the same thing! She wakes up crying and screaming and she looks in the same corner of her room every time.
When playing in her room the next day, she told me there was a monster in her room. I told her to tell the monster to go away but this didn’t help her terrors.
She now has a lamp on by her door which gives her more comfort and she doesn’t wake up screaming as much as she did but we do get the odd night of broken sleep.
Maybe see if you can get a little nightlight or a lamp. So if he wakes up it’s not completely dark and maybe he won’t be as scared xx

Same thing here word for word, waking up hysterical crying and thrashing before settling again. I think it’s their imagination developing bless their hearts ♥️

Personally I pray for my kids before sleeping, this obviously depends how spiritual you are but children see a lot more than we do as adults and it can be terrifying for them.
I’m Christian so I pray for them and invite the angels of the Lord to protect them and the spirit of God to protect them also.
There was a couple of nights were my son cried and kept looking at 1 corner and holding me tightly, and I went to that corner prayed and sprinkled some holy water and it’s been fine since,
I do all this in Jesus Name and they sleep well (apart from my 6 month old waking up every 3 hours still 😂)
I mean there is a whole spiritual world out there, it’s not just for scary movies, but that’s why you see or hear of kids saying to their parents “who is that man or who is that woman” while pointing at somewhere and when the parents look and see nothing, the kids can see a lot!

Wow this sounds so familiar. My little boy turns 3 end of this month and he has been acting the same. He won’t sleep unless the lights are on and the door is open. He also mentioned scared of “monster” he saw in the stores (thanks to the Halloween deco👻) . Hope they grow out of this soon 😇

My little boy turns 3 next month and he’s been doing the same thing, usually he sleeps through the night and such a good sleeper but recently he’s waking up crying quite panicked, takes a while to put him back down! And like my little boy wants the nightlight on

so we’re all going through this!?😭😭
