Hi everyone,
I’m hoping for some advice or reassurance. My May baby has always been such a good sleeper, he’s been sleeping through the night since about 8 weeks old with only the occasional hiccup during sickness or a regression.
But this past week has been rough. Our usual routine is bath, bottle and then into the cot where he self settles. Now the second we put him down he screams bloody murder and we end up rocking him to sleep which can take up to 30 minutes. He’s also waking 1–2 times during the night and will only settle if he’s in our bed. On top of that, he’s suddenly waking for the day at 5:30–6 am instead of his usual 7 pm–7 am stretch.
Naps have also taken a hit, he used to do 2–3 hour naps and now we’re lucky to get 1 hour.
Is there a sleep regression around this age? Has anyone else been through this recently? Any tips on how to help him get back to his normal sleep would be amazing.
Thank you!

Hi yes my baby went through the same thing. As they get older their naps will shorten. It won’t be 3 hour naps, it can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Also if it is taking so long to sleep, he is not tired enough. His wake window might be longer now, which means he needs more time up and playing. But then also an overtired baby is hard to put down too. Look up “wake windows” it helped us so much. I also heard there’s a sleep regression at 2 month and 4-5month. And cluster feeding was happening around 2 months. They are going through a major growth spurt.
