Episiotomy.

Hi girls, so I have a episiotomy on Monday night. However there are 2 small cuts which they said would heal by themselves and decided not to stitch them. However my godddd I’m in agony. I can’t pee without me screaming in pain. My midwife checked yesterday and she said there is no infection etc which is good news but honestly I’m in agony’s I can’t sit down without it being agonising!! Anyone else had this and when does it get better ? 😩

Have you tried peri bottle with warm water to squirt on yourself while you pee it’ll dilute it

Definitely recommend a peri bottle. It’s a god send

I had an episiotomy, I think the pain would be from that.
Because, I was also in absolute agony!
I got a rubber ring from the holiday stash to sit on.
Not going to lie, it took about a week before I could walk without looking like I had shit myself and could sit down without being in pain. I think day 2 was worse, I couldn’t get out of bed properly, couldn’t sit up properly.
But it is temporary and was absolutely worth it!
I brought spritz for bitz.
Expensive, but helped TONNES x

Trust me it gets better. I was on the toilet screaming in pain 😩 use a peri bottle whilst you’re peeing and it’s completely removed the pain for me. I’m 3 weeks PP now and its so much better

Also drink lots of water

I have no idea if it actually helps or not because I’ve not had one. But my bestie did and she did tucks medicated cooling pads as well as she used an ice pack the first few days. She also got out of bed as little as possible the first 4 days. She was miserable, I hope it gets better girlie!

I got one of the Frida sets and it helped sooo much with the episiotomy / pp management- it had witch hazel foam, cooling ice pads, a peri bottle, massive pads anddd disposable pants would deffo recommend. Did the hospital give you pain relief? If not speak to your midwife. Can’t remember what I was given but it was stronger than paracetamol and I want to say for a couple weeks?? xx

I had an episiotomy and it will be that. No one talks about the amount of pain I was in with it! It took a few weeks until it started to ease, I sat on a rubber ring thing that i got from the pharmacy!

I also got prescribed codiene which helped too

I didnt have one but I had two tears I needed stitched up and internal grazing, plus I had surgery to remove a palm sized hematoma from my inner labia 3 days after giving birth so had stitches on my labia too🙈 the only thing I can suggest is an entire JUG of luke warm water tipped down your butt crack while bending over and touching the floor infront of the toilet while you pee. It will get better with time but my god the sting is no joke!

A rubber ring to sit on really helped me, my partner got it from boots. I had really bad piles too so I couldn’t sit down in any position or even lie without being in pain it was hell! I took the ring out with me in the car and everything it was very helpful x

Like others have said Peri bottle for wee, rubber ring for sitting and cooling pads Boots do them or you can order off Amazon (uk) keep up with pain meds.

Tucks pads lined on a pad. Change it every-time you goto the bathroom. It’s cooling for relief and has witch hazel to help with healing. I went through 1 package every 2-3 days for like 2 weeks.

Spritz for bits saved me when I had an episiotomy. Femfresh for bath and witch hazel pad liner wipes. I also had to use our feeding pillow and sit in the middle of it x

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
