We're going to Malta next week with my 3 month old, we're not hiring a car whilst we're out there but will be getting taxis occasionally to other places. Has anyone taken their own car seat abroad in this situation? Was it worth the hassle, or did you manage fine without? I’m not sure whether it’s best to take one with us because I'm not sure what else we will do?!😂 also don't want the car seat to be damaged!😩 thank you!!

You will need to take a car seat if you plan to use taxis. Taxis often don’t have any or if they do they’re very old, for much older children and thrown around between cars so aren’t safe to use x

We hired a Doona x

Ive taken one. I brought a 'cheaper' slimmer one so I could use the original box but if you don't have that use a seat bag with extra towels/nappies to pad it out. Also gives you a bit of extra baggage
Just be aware that babies shouldnt be in them for long so even though it'll be super convenient to clip it onto the base its not recommended

We always take ours (but we hire cars) it will probably get scratched etc so if you precious about that I’d get a cheap travel one

We take ours to Spain and check it in, it just goes in a travel bag I bought online for around £10 and we never have any issues with it being damaged😊
