Hi! Any recommendations for prams with bassinet, that are ideal for newborns onwards, ideally not too heavy as I need to carry it a few stairs up to my apartment and hoping to use on TFL occasionally, but still sturdy/comfy for baby, and fairly decent size wheels as pavements near us are abit uneven/bumpy and lots of hills 😇??

Joolz Aer

I have 2. One is an iCandy and while I love it, it's an absolute tank and I catch myself using it more in the countryside when we visit family. In London I mostly use my Nubi 2 and it's been the best investment since we had LO. I know you said one with a bassinet, the Nubi doesn't have that unfortunately, but it does lie flat and is suitable for newborn.
There aren't really many prams that have a bassinet that are light and easy to fold to be honest. And having the smaller pram while using public transport is absolute life saviour imo. I think you should go to shops like John Lewis (for pricier prams) and Smyths (for more affordable options) and see which ones would fit you best and there you'd feel most secure putting your LO 😊
Remember that on small ones like the Joolz/Bugaboo/Nubi etc you can always put a footmuff for LO to be covered, instead of having a bassinet 😊

We’re getting the bugaboo dragonfly as you can collapse with one hand, leave the basinet on and there’s a shoulder strap too.

You can have a look for Nuna Triv, it’s city friendly and folds compact. We also have Joolz aer+ but without a bassinet.

Yoyo!

Not super compact but I did choose mamas and papas strada, was hauling it up 2 flights of stairs 🫣 did also end up getting a joolz aer but only when LO was closer to a year bcs I needed something smaller as baby got heavier 🥲

We bought an absolute tank for our original pram (Silver cross Reef) and while LO was small and we weren’t traveling too much, it was great but as LO got close to starting nursery we got a lighter buggy Uppababy Minu V2, it is much lighter while also being sturdy. I’ve taken it on trains (TFL, overground, national rail) and it’s really held up! The only annoying thing is that the fabrics aren’t easy to wash, but the new V3 is; we’re actually looking at upgrading to this.
For me rather than it being bigger / smaller, with a tall toddler I think go for what’s easy to carry (folded or open) and what’s likely to be able to last. You’ll also need more basket space than you’ll ever get 😂

Kinderkraft APINO Pushchair,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CHMSQTH3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I like our yo-yo as it doesn’t take a lot of space in the buses and tubes very light you can take in to the plane most airlines accept only the yo-yo but it’s hard to close you need two hands to close it while some others one hand is enough
It doesn’t lie flat after six month and not sitting position kind of only one position
I advice you to go to John Lewis and try some you can book a 45 minute consultation

Mamas and papas ocarro

We’ve had the Yoyo for 3 years and it’s great in London and on public transport.

Cybex Mios. Had it since my first when we still lived in a flat (without lift). I also wanted a lightweight pram that I could carry when on underground and would be easy to manoeuvre in London. Still very happy with it!

I have the Joolz Aer+ and I love it. It's so lightweight and easy to fold down with one hand and carry. Plus I take it out nearly every day to a muddy field to walk the dog and I've never had an issue with the wheels getting stuck or anything - I'm so glad I didn't get a big pram with big wheels. I used it from newborn and the bassinet was plenty big enough - in comparison the yoyo bassinet is quite small, i have a friend who's baby out grew the bassinet before they were ready to transition to sitting upright. The space underneath the pram in the yoyo is smaller.
I went to Mamas and Papas for the pram demonstrations and they advised getting the Joolz over the YoYo because of the size difference, yet the Joolz is still small and foldable

I’ve got a joolz aer and could’ve be without it! It’s so compact, light and easy!!

We have the yo-yo and love it

Babyzen yoyo is amazing for ease of folding it down & putting it over the shoulder for going upstairs with little one but it could be a rougher ride than others. I live on top of a huge hill & travel all over London areas which it’s been amazing only some terrains has it been kind of tricky but still doable.
Joolz AER feels alot more sturdy to push but I haven’t tried the folding down to see how easy it is I do think it provides some more comfort compared to babyzen.

Bugaboo Dragonfly!! The bassinet folds with the pram too. Smaller than large prams but bigger than travel prams. With travel prams you also can’t have your little one parent facing which was a non negotiable for me

I also recommend the Bugaboo Dragonfly, lightweight and smaller than similar buggy’s but you can lie flat and change where the child is facing. Much more space than travel buggy’s like yoyo and easy to fold

We got a Joolz Aer, super compact, easy to use, amazing on public transport. It’s not amazing on uneven ground but I think better than the yoyo in that regard and decent enough (we also have lots of uneven ground/cobblestones near us). We use public transport a lot though so that was one key thing. I’d say the main downside to the Joolz Aer is the basket underneath isn’t massive
