Natural or C Section

Hi everyone!

I'm currently 26 weeks with a low placenta. I've been told that if it doesn't move up I'd need to have a c section but they would make the call at my 35 week appointment.

I've spoken to the midwife about an elective c section, the reason being, I'm an extremely anxious person with awful symptoms when anxiety hits (especially in unknown situations!). I feel like a c section would allow me to know step by step how the day is meant to go and to a degree, you know what's going to happen whereas with natural, it's very unknown! I'm aware recovery is longer for a c section but would love to know from mums who have either had both or are in a similar situation to me, what they did and how they felt with their decision? Many thanks in advance 🥰

I had neither I had to be induced and ended up with emergency episiotomy, however I’m a really anxious person and don’t like feeling out of control and I was absolutely fine weirdly ( however the gas and air did have a big effect on me so was proper relaxed)

Don’t stress and go with the flow! If a C section is the best decision for you and the baby, then take that route and if you are able to have a vaginal birth then do that! Don’t fret over it, you will just increase your anxiety. These docs know what they are doing and remember their license to practice is on the line as well!

I’m type 1 diabetic so for medical reasons need to be either induced or have a c-section at 38 weeks. I’ve gone for c-section for the same reasons. I would rather have control over the situation than end up with unknowns (plus I’m not a fan of induction due to experiences I’ve heard of around me)

I had a C-section, which wasn't the plan, but life happens. Honestly I didn't find the recovery as bad as expected, I was a bit sore and it definitely took a bit longer than friends who'd had a complication free vaginal birth. But I know by 2 weeks (when my partner went back to work) I was pretty much fine!

I wanted an elective and changed my mind and went with it - did labour & got to 10cm & pushing to need an emergency C section anyway!

May differ for everyone, however i had my csection sat 5am, was up and on my feet after lunch time and looked after my baby fine alone without midwife help etc. yes your sore but i didnt find it as bad as i thought it would be!
Was down town with baby and the pram 1 week later & drove at 4 weeks pp!
Im going for an elective csection this time x

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
