Guys I’m feeling guilty….is everyone entertaining their babies 24/7, if so how? My baby is nearly 5 months old and I read her books, we do tummy time, I sing songs with her and we go on walks and to places and she looks around, meets people and I tell her about things, we go to classes and meet up with friends every few days…..I just feel guilty because times I have been on my phone with her on my lap or i out some Disney or Bluey on the tele just for a little bit so I can catch a break, but I’m feeling like the worlds worst and feeling like I’m not doing enough…..feeling exhausted at the moment and very deflated as she’s gone back over with her sleep so I’m living on fumes again!

Don’t feel guilty it sounds like you do a lot with your baby and we all need a break x

No one is entertaining their baby 24/7 - sounds like you are doing amazing!
There are some nice HD aquarium videos on YouTube. Calm music gentle graphics. I find these good for winding down and occupying them.

Now that the wake windows are getting longer I’m definitely not entertaining her all the time! I feel guilty too but I find it so draining.. I look at my phone while holding her, or just leave her on the bouncer for a few minutes in silence if she doesn’t fuss. I try to at least talk or sing all the time but I do need a break from it!

Don’t feel guilty at all, my little one gets screen time every single day!
With my oldest being 3 it can be mad in the morning and then at bedtime. I normally stick an aquarium YouTube video on, or baby sensory.
But honestly even when my oldest is at school my youngest is with me, I think I’ve done one baby class so far with him. Life is just different this time compared to my first, but he’s just as happy x

I also don’t think you need to entertain them every minute they’re awake! I read somewhere that just taking in the world and seeing you go about your day is engaging / stimulating for them.
Plus I also read you don’t want to entertain them every single second and for them to come to expect that growing up as that isn’t life! There will be times when they are bored or need to entertain themselves and play independently so just think of it as being in training for that! It might be bullshit 😂 but it reassures me slightly when I let my little girl just lie on her mat or in her chair for 15 mins while I potter about / have a coffee and a scroll!
