Those who are considering sleep training, what method do you think you’ll use and when? Has anyone already been doing it?
I’m considering trying the pick up put down method initially whilst he’s still only just 3 months.

So my girl is almost 4 months, i started this week. I shut all the curtains, white noise, swaddle bag. Then i lay her down and pat her chest like a heartbeat motion. I dont leave her to cry for longer than a few mins. Shes adjusted well especially at bedtime. Shes now asleep within 10 mins which is such a change from holding her to sleep

I’m either going to do pick up or Ferber (but with smaller intervals since he’s only 4 months).
I did Ferber with my first and it worked so well. But I still feel nervous/guilty about doing it. But the we’re waking up hourly at the moment and it is genuinely a struggle for me at the moment!

Yeah until shes asleep. Then ill pick her up calm her then lay her back down but i dont have to picl her up anymore she usually now soothes by a pat or a nose rub xx

Yeah i did the cry it out method with my son and i cried so much i hated it whereas with this im not leaving her she knows im there still and will comfort her if she gets too upset if that makes sense

I did Ferber with my first, my second is pretty chill so unless she needs it I won’t be sleep training but it really worked with my first. I didn’t force her to sleep through the night and still fed her until she was 18m in the night, but I’ve used it various times when she has had a regression or change in her sleep and needed help settling / sleeping.
It isn’t recommended to sleep train until at least 4 months and ideally closer to 6 months. (If they were born premature you should adjust to due date)
