Inconsolable crying

We spend most of the day managing a baby who endlessly cries. We have had 12hrs + a day and I just want to cry myself. I am mourning the lost smiles and things I wanted to do with a newborn and questioning when it will get better 😭😭

Love him to bits but this is so hard. I just want to enjoy him and move forward as a little family.

Sending hugs. I’d speak to your GP, there must be a reason why he cries so much, GP might be able to investigate. Little one must be in some kind of discomfort to be upset. Things like tension from birth, reflux, tongue tie. Is there anything that soothes him? GP and cranial osteopath would be my plan of action.
My first was a whiny baby but it was just whining, not crying x

Oh I could write this myself! Definitely take to the GP. My baby has silent reflux and they’ve also said colic, which is basically the same thing and/or wind. She managed 11 hours of crying the other day with only a few v short breaks.
I do cry. I mourn for my life before this, when I just had my toddler to worry about. I worry how it affects him, I worry when it will ever stop. It’s a living hell. It’s also massively affected my bond with baby.
My baby is on reflux medication which doesn’t seem to do as much as promised, but it’s something.

This is horrible, I totally get it, but anyone who has been through similar says it passes by 3-4 months so we need to hang in there! Message me if you want to talk more, I totally understand xxx

I should say, the GP may diagnose something, may not, but it’s just as important, if not more, to tell them how you are feeling. It’s so so hard and you are actually the priority to keep well and sane so you can look after baby.

I was the exact same with my baby I was in tears. At night he would continue to scream. He had bad colic/reflux/gas.

We took him to an osteopath to help relieve tension, on omeprazole for his colic and he had a tongue tie corrected (despite being told for weeks he didn’t have one, but he did!)

When these were sorted and the Omeprazole kicked in (it took about 4 weeks). Honestly my baby changed, after his third osteopath session you could visibly see how he was more relaxed from the tension release.

It put me in a spiral, really impacted our bond and had my doubting I loved him. It really takes away the lovely newborn phase that others have!

It will get better I promise. But if you have any instincts of the cause…trust them!

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?
