Does anyone have any tips on ways to put baby down for sleep? My 5 week old won’t let us put him down at all day or night. I’m happy holding him but could also do with even 20 minutes of being able to put him down.
Im trying loads of different things but his now even unhappy in the car seat and pram on walks as wants holding.

Just popping on here as having the same issue so piggy backing on any advice!
Hope you're OK mama. It's tough when you just want some sleep!

Baby wearing even for five minutes?
So tough they are more aware and just wanted that safety and security and that's through contact, smell, warmth etc.
It's brutal! Same here. X

Try putting an item of your clothing in with him, he will get the smell from it. Hope this helps you x
I’ve tried the Carrier but obviously not ideal when I need to shower or sleep! I’ve also tried putting my top over the next to me but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore either! Xx

Had this issue for 8 weeks and finally I figured it out!
My answer: Put them down when they’re drowsy and not deep sleep!
The drowsyness makes them feel so soothed that they don’t notice being put down quite so much x
If this doesn’t work. Make sure they’re warm enough. (I say this as my boy sleeps much better in pram now that I’ve added another layer)

Mine wil only sleep in her pram with the rockit pram vibrator on. So that’s what we currently do… day and night 🫠

Wait till they’ve dropped off then when transferring them down keep some pressure on their tummy/ chest with your hand then remove gently once they’ve relaxed into lying down. I’ve found that helps. Sort of tricking them that you’re still there even though you’re put them down. And just keep practising this x

What works very well with my boy is a heated plush. I heat the plush in the microwave before starting to put him to sleep, heat it up and put it in his bed and cover it with a blanket. Then once im done feeding and whatever and he is asleep, I take the plush away and put him in a warm bed. Because im warm and bed is usually colder than me he would always startle awake at the difference, but now he continues to sleep cause he feels the warmth and it cools slowly. Also, always put butt first when laying in. Head first triggers startle reflexes.

Just to say, this is exactly what we are going through.
We have had 40 mins in moses basket on one night.
Other than that, he sleeps on us
And in the day, I have to hold, carry him which is lovely but so hard to get things done. And as for sleep... We get very little!

Same here, baby girl is 6 weeks old and we have not been able to put her down once since she was born. I have her in a sling on me all day and my partner and I do shifts through the night of holding her while she sleeps. It’s brutal!
