My SIL is having complications in her pregnancy and its looking like she's going to deliver early, so I wanted to start setting aside breastmilk for her baby since I'm still pumpung and nursing my 8MO. I just don't know how much I should realistically be setting aside for a premie baby. I have about 20 oz in the freezer. I only pump 12-14oz a day and nurse the rest of the time.

When I had my daughter early she only did about 50mls at the most before we brought her home. Depending how long her daughter is there it could get up to about 3-4oz a feed but starting out it’s not much since their bellies are so tiny

It's a nice idea, has she asked you to do this though? If she wants to breastfeed herself she'll set up a pumping schedule to establish supply and she might not want to supplement with your milk as it could affect her supply. They only drink tiny amounts to start, I wouldn't set any aside just see how it goes with their feeding journey. I ended up pumping a lot more than my daughter was drinking, they kept it stored in the NICU fridge and freezers but there's only so much room so we had to move it to our home freezer.

I understand what you're saying (although baby would not be a micro preemie at that gestation), but as a parent of a baby who spent 7 weeks in the NICU(following bowel surgery), I would not appreciate anyone else questioning my feeding choices. It could come across as you doing that if you are trying to donate breast milk without being asked. If she chooses to use formula that's her choice to make. I met plenty of mums who did because it was too much for their mental health on top of everything else. I'm not saying you can't offer but I'd be really tactful and kind about it and not insist or try to tell her medical reasons to accept, she's got enough on her plate. And I say all this as someone who did breastfeed until my daughter was over 2 years old.
My partner does his own washing (great!) and I do mine and our toddler’s.
Sometimes I put toddler’s clothes straight in the washing machine if they are ditched, with a view that I’ll do a load later.
But this morning, my partner needed to do a load of washing and instead of washing our toddler’s clothes with his (toddler had a vest, jumper, and a top), my partner took our toddler’s clothes out, put them on the side, so he could wash his own clothes???
Why not just chuck our toddler’s clothes in with his?
This has happened twice now and he’s never washed our toddlers clothes

Husband wants me to stay off my phone when breastfeeding day or night. He says the phone is too close to the baby's head. Husband is annoyed that I said No. I'm up doing nights and baby's in my arms and I should stay off my phone. Ridiculous. He said i should read or listen to something instead.
😒
Thoughts? Anyone else doing this.
FYI i'm not on my phone all feeds. Just at 3 something in the morning when I have had minimal sleep yes I am on my phone trying to stay awake.

Controversial one and I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I miss daughter waking up in the night. She’s always been a 6:30-7:30pm to bed kinda baby. But she’d wake up twice a night.
However all of a sudden she’s started sleeping through but the catch is she goes to sleep after 9pm. By the time we’ve put her to bed and go ourselves sorted there isn’t much of an evening left to spend with my husband.
We used to cook together and watch films or box sets and chat. It’s done wonder for keeping our love life going as we’ve navigated becoming parents. But now we almost don’t have any down time together.
We get up around 6:15am for our jobs so it’s not realistic for us to be staying up much later.
Has anyone else experienced similar?

My little girl is 15 weeks and for the last 3ish weeks has been fighting every day time nap, and bedtime.
She doesn’t have strict wake windows and I just follow her sleepy cues, which are usually rubbing eyes, yawning, and staring into space. When she gets to this point I will give her her dummy to soothe into sleep, but she resists it to the point I have to rock her whilst she screams for 20 minutes before finally falling asleep.
She only wakes twice in the night around 1:30 for a feed and again at 6:30.
Is there a way to stop this or will she just naturally learn to fall asleep peacefully one day? 😂

What are we doing with these 4am wake ups let them play in cot while go back to sleep? Try get them back to sleep? Or just give up entirely and start your day 😂🫠
