Keto and BF

Excuse me if this is ignorance speaking but has anyone done keto and breast fed? I was keto before kids and it helped me feel good all this food has junk in it and I feel gross! I would ask the ped but I ask soooo many questions during our visits.

I was going to but decided to do it after I’d finished I started a week after I stopped BF. Wouldn’t recommend it during BF because your body needs carbs and keto is a depravity of exactly that. Keto is really fricken hard and finding foods you can eat until you get used to it is also hard. You drop water weight very quickly too. Your body can become weaker.

*update just read full post so have seen you know what keto is like*

If you think you can keep your water and protein high enough then that’s 100% your own judgement.

I’d never done keto before until after I finished BF and if I had of started while I was BF I don’t think I could’ve done it 🤣

Hi! Just jumping in as a Nutritional Therapist. I would definitely encourage you to wait until after your done breastfeeding/baby is passed a year/your willing to use formula.
Your body very much needs the carbs & added nutrients during this phase. If you wanted to eat more protein & focus on veggies & fruit as carbs that would be greatly helpful in losing water weight & decreasing inflammation. The transition into keto can add more stress and more stress to your adrenals as well which is not helpful postpartum & trying to get stabilize hormones & body recovery.

Like others said, I'd wait. Or if it's important to you, be okay with supplementing (that's totally fine too!!!).

Honestly I cleaner food is what you're aiming for, start with that! Fruits veggies meats nuts/seeds, whole grains, rice, butter, milk, eggs, etc! You're going to need plenty of carbs and protein to keep your supply up but you can definitely go at it a cleaner way if that's what you're looking for.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
