Help please I’m not a meat eater, I want to give my babies steak I have a 2.5 year old and a 11mth old
How did you cook it / serve it?
Are they still a bit too young?
They’ve only had chicken and I’d really like to branch out to other meats any help would be appreciated

They can deffo have steak. Cut it into finger sized pieces x

Cook it well done, cut a long finger piece, your 11 month old will probably suck all of the nutrients out but not actually eat much which is fine. And 2.5 will hopefully eat some! I'm the same as you, I don't like meat most of the time (even the smell) but don't want to show my children that so I make a conscious effort to buy all kinds of meat. Good luck x

The 11 month old is too young, but as long as the 2.5 year old does well with chewing meat... should be fine. I would start with something really tender. Maybe braised or stewed, and cut or shred really small. My son was 2ish when he first had beef, and it was a dish with braised beef and served with mashed potatoes. I would say that there's no rush though. Do what makes you comfortable. You know your kids best.🫶🏻

I’ve been giving my babies meat since they were 6 months old, I started off blending it and then I just followed what online baby nutritionist recommended.
“To serve steak to an 11-month-old, cook it well-done and serve it as a large, tough strip (finger-sized) for gnawing, or finely shredded/minced mixed into other moist foods, avoiding small cubes which are a choking hazard. The goal is for it to be hard to pull apart with fingers, letting the baby work it with their gums, providing iron and oral motor practice.
Preparation & Serving Methods
Cook Well-Done: This ensures it's tough enough not to easily break apart. The "Squish Test": If you can squish it between your fingers, it's too soft; it needs to be resistant. Serve as a Strip: Cut into a thick strip, about 1-2 inches wide and 3-4 inches long, so they can hold and gnaw on it. Shredded/Mashed: Finely shred the well-done steak or mix minced pieces into yogurt, mashed potatoes, or pasta sauce for moisture and easiest

Ive given my toothless 10 month old steak. She was actually 7 months when I gave it to her. Obviously keep an eye. Make sure its cooked through.

Steak mince might be an easier place to start 🤔

Hi, I’m just curious as of why you’re deciding to give your baby steak if you’re not a meat eater yourself? Does the other parent eat meat? I’m a vegetarian as well and I don’t plan to go r my baby any meat either…so I’m just curious.
