Ahhh!!!
I feel like my husband is so hard to buy for and I need some inspiration!
I’m in quite a predicament…
He originally planned to purchase a gift for himself in the $500 range but the plan fell through last minute and now I’m responsible for finding him equal valued gifts before Christmas without online shopping… because things won’t get here in time.
I live in the mountains of Colorado and Denver is a 3 hour drive for me.. the only place with notable shopping spots.
I’m stuck shopping Walmart, Ace Hardware, Murdoch ranch supply, or small shops here and there that might still be open for the holidays. I’m screwed!!
I can’t buy tools because the moment he thinks he needs a tool, he just buys it. His truck doesn’t need any upgrades.. because again, he’d just buy it himself. I’ve already purchased a nice button up shirt for winter/work and a new wallet because his is ruining his debit cards. But that’s it!!!! And I’m making him tamales for the holiday. He’s got me soooo much stuff already and I just feel like the worst person not having his gifts ready.
I am a stay at home mom, so essentially he’s buying himself a gift still but he doesn’t see it that way, only I do lol. We are also down to one vehicle.. so getting out and shopping requires some planning. I feel doomed. Please help!!
He’s an electrician. He likes music. His truck. His boys (our toddlers). He doesn’t really do the fishing hunting thing.. he likes his dirt bike but doesn’t currently have one working. He enjoys using his hands and brain. He likes smoking cannabis. He doesn’t drink. His style is even very basic… t shirt jeans and work boots lol. He likes soft slippers at home, but that’s not really replacing a $500 gift lol he enjoys sweets and junk but he’s wanting to start eating healthy this new year.. because the new year marks a year since his mom passed away from preventable illnesses. Another reason I want a great holiday for him.. it’s been a rough year.

Tell him to get the present himself if his own plan fell through!
Or give him the money to get something in the sales after christmas and he will get double the amount!

How about buying him an experience? Tickets for a music concert? Tickets to visit some show with toddlers? Some truck expo or something 😁 any helicopter flights over the mountains in the area?

I am useless with regard to gifts haha. My husband used to be easy to shop for but even I struggled this year.
To be honest chatgpt saved me for my BIL gift. Throw all of this into chat and see what it says (limited spots to shop and his interests).
$500 is a lot… I got my husband an espresso machine this year. And a new wireless charger pad for his phone, watch, AirPods, etc. I don’t know if any of that helps your situation?
Does he play video games? A new console would work or new controllers or chair? My husband got an electric sit stand (up/down) desk for work which he likes.
Does he commute to work? A phone stand for the car or portable charging pack for his devices.
Anything for the car? My husband asked for tire kits to change the tires, impact sockets for alloy wheels, and air power tools.
Other tools for any projects he’s working on?

He likes cannabis ? Go into the cannabis shop and get him the high level top shelf stuff… it’s like getting someone a bottle of wine or liquor but like there special reserve that cost the big bucks …
You could easily spend 500 bucks on 3 items
I like what said about getting him an experience; and you could probably purchase an online gift card for it.

It’s 3 days before Christmas, tell him not to buy himself anything.
I got my husband a miter saw stand ($200) and a grinder tool ($100) on sale. Last year I got him a saw ($400). I love getting him tools because they are generally big, expensive, and easy, so buying just one is feasible.
Think about something raggedy he might have that he wouldn’t necessarily replace right now, but will soon. New tool belt? Rubber insulated gloves? Stripping tools? Multimeter? Head lamp? Rubber ground mat?

My husband asked for a nice, lined work vest (I was looking at like carharts) for working in the garage in the winter.
I've also bought him nice cashmere or wool lined leather gloves. Like a fancier version of what he'd buy for himself.
He also said a gift card to REI or Dicks would be nice.
Tickets are a fun idea!
You could also do like a promisory note sort of thing for planning an activity with the kids. Like a trip to the city and the zoo. You could like map it out if you've got a printer and sort of make like a travel packet. This might be lighter on the actual $ spent but consider your time as valuable to plan something.

Me and hubby bought ourselves a pizza oven as our Christmas present. We live remotely with no takeaways nearby. Is that something he would like? Great fun for family nights too.

Thank you, guys!! You’re a life saver!!!

Could you buy an experience or a family day out he'd enjoy with the boys?

Would he like a gym membership or some personal training sessions if he's already a member somewhere?

We follow the Want, Need, Wear, Read method. You buy one thing in each category. It really helps.
