Yes it might be your period coming back

It could be your period coming back, but I’d go to your ob. This happened to me and they left placenta in. Took 3 months of bleeding for them to figure it out 🫠

Breastfeeding or stimulating the breasts can cause cramps as the uterus is contracting and going back to normal, oxytocin is released during breast stimulation and causes contractions.
It’s normal, you’re only 6 weeks your uterus is still contracting.

I bled until 5 weeks then at 6 it came back for a few days, the next month my period was back and lined up with my 6 week bleeding.

Everyone's different really, my daughter was only breastfed and still has a bedtime feed at 15 months. She was born start of September, bleeding stopped mid October and my period returned in November. Other girls in my mums group didnt get theirs back for 6-9 months

I had some bleeding and painful cramps which must have been contraction pains around the same time and it just disappeared. 5 months pp and haven't had any bleeding since touch wood

Most likely not your period because you're breastfeeding, and if you are exclusively (not using a pump) then it shouldn't come back for a few months at least! (Majority of the time)

If you have overdone it, even a little, your incision will open on the inside first. (My health visitor told me) I was overdoing it and noticed fresh blood, try and relax and rest as much as you can! (It may not be, but better safe than sorry)

Exactly what said! It's generally normal - as long as it isn't soaking through a pad an hour - and, for me, I also had internal scabs breaking up from doing regular physical activity; the uterus contractions just drew it out more concisely. Nursing should also stay your menses for a while anyway.

I've bled for a while after my c section
Bright red blood.. I think it all stopped at like 3 months pp. Normal. And i juuuuust got my period back last week!! 9 months pp! Im also breastfeeding.

Thanks everyone ! I was just a bit worried as bleed was slowly coming to a stop and it randomly started again. I might still go and see my GP on Monday if it’s still heavy throughout the weekend!
