My little girl (7months) is breastfed but has always taken a bottle since birth, whether that’s formula or breast milk. Over the last couple weeks she’s refused all bottles. I’m due to go back to work soon so this is obviously going to be a huge issue. Has anyone got any tips? I really don’t want to stop breastfeeding completely….😢

My son used to take bottles of breast milk when he was young but grew to prefer it “straight from the tap”. He would take a bottle if I wasn’t around, but not if I tried feeding it to him. So he would have milk from his dad or nursery just fine… have you tried leaving her with your partner for feeding? Maybe try a sippy cup if she prefers drinking from that independently?

It could be a phase, I remember my little guy did that. Completely refusing bottles after a break (i was trying him to increase breastfeeding, as i thought i was low on supply, but he was just lazy eater). 🤭
My little guy was terrible at eating while awake - he would eat lots just after falling asleep, so I was able to get him to breastfeed for 30min or more, same with bottle.
You could check with the breastfeeding helpline, they were amazing help for feeding questions 😊

My son did this just before I went back to work at 10 months. By that time I was able to breastfeed him before work and then again when I got home and once more before bed and this was enough so he could just have water in the day, but some days when I wasn't able to do this our childminder had to basically force milk down him with a calpol syringe lol. Not ideal but there will be something they can do!
