I’ve looked at all the online tips for stopping feeding to sleep but my question is still HOW? I would like to genuinely hear from other mums who have a baby who is challenging to get to sleep and how they stopped nursing to sleep.
If I change the feeding to a different part of the routine he’ll just not sleep. If I feed in a different room he’ll wake in a transfer. I can’t use a comforter etc as the moment it’s taken away he’ll wake. He won’t take a dummy- trust me I tried. And even though he does fall asleep in the carrier (and occasionally/ very rarely my arms if we are out at a cafe), I can’t really do these things at night time and he’ll wake in the transfer. I have a dark room, white noise, bath time, night oil massage, soothing music with the same comforter as I sing to him. Rocking doesn’t work either. Bobbing sometimes does if he’s properly tired (as I said, in the carrier).
I’d love to crack this before I go back to work as my boy is also a bottle refuser so I don’t know how it will work out and it’s all stressing me out.

I have the same issue so I'm interested to hear tips 😅

Is he refusing bottles with you or with everyone? It might be that he wants closeness from you, so bottle is yuck 😄
If I wasn’t able to get my little guy to sleep i’d put him in the carrier or wrap, put on lullaby music and walk around room with lights off or dimmed light. Sometimes gently bounce him with my hands. For my boy dummy helped as well, but if your baby is not used to it, don’t recommend, will be harder to get rid of it later 🤦🏼♀️ (we only now dropped it at 2.5 yrs)

I moved it to it now being the beginning of bedtime routine and added swaying (which also didn't work until it did) at the end with lullabies. It didn't work immediately, but it did work. It was just a matter of staying consistent and keeping up the practice. The first couple of nights my husband took the last leg of swaying and singing the lullabies, so baby wasn't expecting boob.
That's it, that's what ended up working for us.
As for the bottle, if he's crying and the mls aren't going down, the nipple might be clogged. Flip the bottle upside down, and if nothing drips out, you may need to unclog the nipple hole. Or he may be frustrated if it's coming out too slow, he may need to size up.
