I am SO sorry because we had this at 3.5 months and man, is it beyond crap. The emotional and physical draining of a baby crying out constantly and waking up constantly is horrific. You're honestly smashing it, whatever is happening. So well done.
What we did: I didn't want a dummy addict child and having to deal with getting rid of it at 2years of age (ish) anyway, so we just sucked it up and went cold turkey. She hated it. It was bad for maybe a week, then for the next 2 weeks it wasn't awesome but it was better. We gave her a cuddly toy that I'd been sleeping with for my scent and she now adores that. Chews the heck out of it. So we let her gnaw that until she falls asleep and then we pop it at the end of her cot (where she can't find it and accidentally harm herself).
I think you have got to do whatever works for you, and know that whatever it is, it will be fine x
