4 month sleep regression

Hi mums, my baby is about to hit 4 months and I’ve only seen horrific stories is there ANYONE who hasn’t had the 4 month sleep regression so bad? I guess I’m just looking for some hope🥹

You might not get it. Neither of my babies had the 4 month regression. My eldest had one at 2 years old for a few weeks, that’s it.

This is how I feel! My baby I coming up 4 months and I’ve only seen horror stories online! It’s terrifying! x

My little boy is 4 and a half months, he sleeps through from 10.30 to 8.30, I have been waiting for it but no sign of it yet, I’m not sure if I’ve escaped it or if it’s randomly going to hit 😳

We have had a week or so where he did one long stretch from 7-1 and then was a bit all over but I just went to bed when he did for that week to combat it so I wasn’t exhausted x

I have twins that are 4 months old today but were born 5 weeks early so unsure if they are going through it or just being fussier. They seem to be needing to be held more and naps during the day are a lot lot shorter. Having to feed them a couple more times overnight too (breastfed so could be using me as a soother) x

My first didn't really have it: I think his naps went a bit haywire for a while, but that was it. Like Sarah above, he then had a major regression at 2 years but that's basically it. My second is just 4 months and his night wakes have recently increased a little bit: from one to two. But we're sticking with the routine and touch wood it'll be ok! I'm sure you'll be fine 😊

My baby girl has just turned 4 months and showed no major signs, she dosent nap for aslong through the day probs only has 30-45mins x3 times a day and goes to bed earlier now from 8.30pm to 7.30am (was 11pm to 8.30am) so other than that been perfect 👌 don't read the horror stories haha!!

My boy was 4 months yesterday. It has only hit us for his daytime naps - they are a nightmare!! But his sleep at night is still fab. Down at 7pm, bottle between 2-4am and up at 7am ish. I am very lucky and grateful - my daughter on the other hand was awful at 4 months and it resulted in co-sleeping.

I had a few weeks of it with more wake ups in the night and resisting naps but actually I think alot of it was down to him having a growth spurt and hes sleep needs changing. As in I found he needs alot less sleep in the day. I use the wonder weeks app honestly really rate it rather than it explaining it as if its a regression its like milestone / brain development describing them as leaps and it gets it all down to a tee! Explains what to expect each month to the next and what skills it is that affects the sleep. I think asmuch as its hard its important to remember its normal and a good sign and it will absolutely pass ! You've got this

Our little girl is just over 4 months and I think were in the regression but touch wood its not that bad at the moment. She is taking a little longer to fall asleep in the night and waking earlier but goes back off again. From abour 5am to 8am she is in and out of sleep but not fully waking up. Xx

My eldest didn’t have any regressions as a baby, only at 2 years when it used to take her 1-2 hours to fall asleep of an evening for weeks no matter what we tried!

Now with my second she is 16 weeks and we’ve not had anything yet… her naps significantly changed around 3 months when she was taking a lovely 2/3 hour nap around the middle of the day along with some shorter morning/afternoon naps, then she suddenly stopped napping and was having 30/45 min naps for weeks and we’ve now started to get back to some sort of decent naps 3/4 weeks later! She’s been fine at night, she was sleeping through for 2 weeks then started waking around 2:30am for a feed again.

So I’m not sure if all this was the regression for us or not? How are we supposed to know if we’ve been the lucky ones and are passed it?! 😅

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
