Looking for some reassurance on how often I’m using calpol!
As some background my LO is 7 months old and his two bottom teeth have both cut through in the last few weeks and I now feel the top teeth are starting to move and cause some discomfort.
He will usually be fine during the day (except the excessive drool and chewing) but sometimes needs a single dose of calpol overnight where he’s struggling to stay asleep.
I would say currently I’m using calpol 3-4 nights a week as a single dose where he’s struggling to stay asleep and I have seen where I do this his wakeups can go from hourly to every 3-4 hours. But also now have guilt that I’m drugging my child to sleep!

It's for his and your comfort. Don't forget it is a source of pain relief for him. As long as you don't go over the recommended amount that it says, then you aren't doing anything wrong. My daughter hasn't got teeth just yet, and by god they've been giving her grief. Some days I've had to give her calpol every 4-6 hours. Do what is right by you and your baby, stick to that and you can't go wrong x

I only give calpol if nothing else works

My baby has clusters of days when her teeth are moving into position and they cause her pain so I no longer feel guilty about the pain relief. I keep in mind that her losing sleep and increasing her cortisol levels from the stress is more damaging than the damn Calpol.

Could you try using Anbesol? We try to only use Calpol when linked with a temperature but it’s easy to say that when teeth haven’t been a bother so far x

I go down the route of teething powder/gel and if that doesn't settle her, I give nurofen. I gave nurofen four nights on the trot a few days ago because she had a tooth cutting through and the other was obviously on the move. I only gave her one dose at bedtime to help her sleep because I've read the pains worse at night when they're lying down.
It's meant for pain relief and it's not like you're keeping baby dosed all day every day. You would take paracetamol if you had a headache, so it's the same for them. Give the pain relief, you'll both be happier for it

honestly I give it to her when shes needs it, so don't feel bad for giving them pain relief, but for teething I think nurofen is far better, it settles her a lot more than calpol would!
