I have a great job right now and am scheduled for maternity leave starting late April. Unfortunately, I learned this week that my company is trying to dissolve my department. Although my director and department chair are fighting passionately, I fear for my job. If a decision is made before April…I could potentially lose my job and not receive maternity leave. (My husband and I can’t afford to live on one income.)
So is it realistic to have a full-time work from home job with a newborn? And if so, what types of jobs can I apply for that would allow me to do that?

Most full time wfh jobs require you to have alternate child care and do not allow you to be the caregiver at the same time as you working.

I agree with the kari. The sleep deprivation that alone is so tough to even want to put time to work. I speak from my experience. I have 10 month old. Once I started working it was so hard to meet the quota and take care of the baby. My husband also works and just now at 10 months we decided there was no way out of it or I would lose my job or my mind without the help. Also if you don't get day care post partum was tough for me I was constantly overstimulated it's just not healthy for your mental health. So either way just be ready to get daycare or someone to help. Hope this helps.
