Any mums here navigating IUGR or low percentiles early in pregnancy?

My baby is measuring <1st percentile, so I’m having weekly scans due to placental insufficiency (even though they can’t confirm that’s the main and only cause!). They say it’s too early to have these issues as I’m 26 weeks pregnant.
It’s been emotionally heavy at times, and I’d love to chat with others who truly understand this journey.

My baby is 14 months now. But they noticed he was small at my anatomy scan. I never heard percentile because my OB didn't see me until 31 weeks, but he was definitely under the 3rd percentile before then, and born under the 1st. He was born at 35 weeks (my water broke) weighing 3lbs 8.7oz and didn't need any breathing help, he spent 2 weeks in the NICU learning to eat (they were having an issue with the bottle nipples and once we got that sorted we were home 3 days later). Feel free to message me!

Hi Stella, I experienced this in my pregnancy. If you’d like to chat, feel free to pop me a message.
Look after yourself where you can. I took comfort in the fact I was able to see my baby every week and although those appointments can be daunting, having the close monitoring means they can continue to track baby’s growth. From my experience you won’t be able to go past 37 weeks because of growth and placental issues but your consultant will talk to you about that in the coming weeks.

My best friend is in the same position. At 28 weeks baby was on the 4th … she had a scan at 30 weeks two weeks later and now baby is on the 15th . Also have placenta problems but seems to grow slowly :) . I hope your little one will do the same x

Hi Stella, my LO is 6 weeks now. I’ve been there! I was diagnosed with IUGR around 28 weeks and I made it to 34 weeks - he spent 2 weeks in the NICU but he was progressing well and is now healthy. I kept hearing from docs that no matter what we do ( and we try to do everything right), sometimes the body just does what it does and in such cases, it’s actually safer for the baby to be out than in so I just had to keep telling myself that. I appreciated that I got to see babe frequently and all things considered, those frequent monitoring appts helped the docs find the cord issue early enough so I could be admitted to the hospital in time. My delivery was scheduled so it all went as planned . Just try to take it one day at a time and it all works out in the end! 💕🌿 Sending you good vibes for a healthy delivery and baby 💕
