Breastfeeding second time around

Hello!

I am currently pregnant with my second baby and would love to give breast feeding a good go this time. I stopped at 2 weeks last time due to a combination of reasons - mainly being I only found it easy to feed off one boob and my baby just wasn’t getting enough milk supply. I had a breast augmentation 10+ years ago and one of my boobs just didn’t seem to produce much milk at all so I wonder if there is nerve damage there.

We also introduced a bottle on day 5 with pumped milk (due to my boobs being so sore I couldn’t bear anything touching them) and then by 2 weeks he was fully on formula.

I am looking for tips on ways to improve milk supply any other tips to make breastfeeding more successful this time. We want to make sure that our baby takes a bottle (whether pumped milk or formula) so are keen to introduce this early on but maybe day 5 was too soon.

Thank you! 🙏🏼

The best thing you can do is save up money rn so you can see a certified lactation consultant once baby is born. Some insurance only covers one visit unless you get a referral. So if you have the money saved you wont think twice about seeing one. Also find and vet one you would want to see.

Since you did have issues with your first I would also consider seeing one now so they can give you resources to study up on before baby is born.

Would this bug you?

My partner does his own washing (great!) and I do mine and our toddler’s.

Sometimes I put toddler’s clothes straight in the washing machine if they are ditched, with a view that I’ll do a load later.

But this morning, my partner needed to do a load of washing and instead of washing our toddler’s clothes with his (toddler had a vest, jumper, and a top), my partner took our toddler’s clothes out, put them on the side, so he could wash his own clothes???

Why not just chuck our toddler’s clothes in with his?

This has happened twice now and he’s never washed our toddlers clothes

Being on phone whilst breastfeeding or holding baby

Husband wants me to stay off my phone when breastfeeding day or night. He says the phone is too close to the baby's head. Husband is annoyed that I said No. I'm up doing nights and baby's in my arms and I should stay off my phone. Ridiculous. He said i should read or listen to something instead.

😒

Thoughts? Anyone else doing this.

FYI i'm not on my phone all feeds. Just at 3 something in the morning when I have had minimal sleep yes I am on my phone trying to stay awake.

Flu jab feeling horrendous

Has anyone had the flu jab during pregnancy and feeling absolutely horrendous? I had the jab last Friday and since Saturday I have been absolutely written off, blocked nose, terrible chesty cough, headache and sweats. Wondering whether I should of got it done in the first place 😭😭

Fighting sleep

My little girl is 15 weeks and for the last 3ish weeks has been fighting every day time nap, and bedtime.

She doesn’t have strict wake windows and I just follow her sleepy cues, which are usually rubbing eyes, yawning, and staring into space. When she gets to this point I will give her her dummy to soothe into sleep, but she resists it to the point I have to rock her whilst she screams for 20 minutes before finally falling asleep.

She only wakes twice in the night around 1:30 for a feed and again at 6:30.

Is there a way to stop this or will she just naturally learn to fall asleep peacefully one day? 😂
