We are moving house soon and I’m already getting worried about the logistics of the move and getting settled. When we moved before it was just myself and partner and now we’ve got a 2 year old plus all the toys, gadgets and bit and bobs to go with it!
Does anyone have any tips of how to make move day and night a smooth transition into a new room for my toddler and to make them feel settled straight away please?

We moved in August, so she was about 20 months. Are you able to go to the house first? We just made sure we talked to her about it first and we went to the house the day before when we got the keys and showed her her room. Dont know how much of that went in 😅
But move day we had help from friends so I could look after our daughter. It went fine, and she was surprisingly fine that night for sleep! We kept everything the same with bedtime like nothing had changed. She had a couple of wakes over the next few nights but settled in really easily, I think they’re quite adaptable at this age

We moved a few weeks ago. Labelled everything per room and told the movers her room was priority, we had the whole room set up the exact same way, obviously different decor but all the same stuff, and honestly she settled straight away. They are really adaptable. Try and stick to the usual routine as much as you can and call in favours for as much help as possible to look after her (him?) so you can get stuff sorted. Something to keep them busy like a new toy kitchen while you try and unpack can help as well
