Hiiii! Second c section mum here! Previous was emergency c section. I am currently 3 days post c section and it's not too bad at all.

I only really get pain upon moving around, if I'm sat still I feel okay. Just keep on top of whatever pain relief they give you. Take it easy when moving, just gentle and gradually. Use your upper body to move positions like standing up etc as opposed to using your core for anything. It gets easier every single day, slowly but surely.

Definitely get underwear that goes over your belly, don't strain yourself doing anything. Explain to your 2 year old that you are sore and they need to be gentle etc. I showed my 3 year old my scar and told him mummy is sore because the Dr took the baby out of my belly and he's been really good although I do have to remind him when he's throwing things about 😂

Get as much help from your partner, family, friends as you can. X

Also, I've annoyingly developed a cough which of course is terrible with a healing post surgery incision. So, I hold a pillow against my stomach when I need to cough, poo, laugh etc and it makes it so much more comfortable.

Take short walks around the house too. Just from room to room etc. It's helpful to just get up and moving as much as possible.

Another thing I'm doing at the moment is sleeping propped up on pillows as well. This isn't something you NEED to do but I just find it more comfortable.

Me again, sorry. I'm just trying to give as much info as possible because I was terrified for mine last weekend too and I want to put others at ease.

The actual surgery was a breeze, no pain with the pain relief going into the spine. Some odd sensations when they start the surgery but of course no pain, just like pressure type feelings and some pulling/pushing sensations. Baby is usually out within the first 10-20 minutes. The longest part is stitching you back up, so the nice thing is - for the most part of your surgery you are distracted because your baby is either next to you with your partner or on your chest.

Good luck all, I loved my second c section and I'm glad I did it ♥️ x

Hiya, I had a c section on 1st Feb as my induction due to baby measuring big wasn't progressing. I hadn't anticipated having to have one. I found the first few days to be a bit of a shock in just how immobile I was, the worst part was sitting down\standing up from being in bed and getting on and off the loo. After day 3 I've been feeling slowly much better. I also have a cold and found coughing whilst reclining or lying down to be way less painful than standing or sitting, also don't let people make you laugh 🤣 my town is full of speed bumps so the drive home from the hospital was awful, maybe take a pillow for the car so you can brace on it for any potholes. I managed with what I had packed in my hospital bag but got some big old high waisted pants and a pair of high waisted jogging bottoms for when I got home, and some more compression socks cause you have to wear them for 6 weeks. Stock up on paracetamol and ibuprofen - I'm still taking that if I feel I need it usually on an evening.

I was also terrified of having a c section but agree the procedure was a doddle (I had 12h of contractions on the syntocin drip so it was a relief tbh 🤣) and couldn't feel anything but a bit of tugging. It took me 5 days to poop and that was a bit of an ordeal so if you take dihydrocodeine make sure you get lactulose too!

I have a 3yo and he's been really good about me needing to rest and my husband has been doing most of the toddler care, I told him I'd had an operation at the hospital and he's been helping me carry things 😁

My recovery was great each time I just feel like what comes before the recovery was my hardest to deal with 😭 giving birth c section was truly so much and it’s a lot to handle but keep telling yourself positive things and don’t let the nerves kick in.
just breath

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Almost 37 weeks + told to do another growth scan

I just had my second to last doctor’s appointment this morning, and my OB told me she wants me to do another growth scan because my belly is measuring small. She says it’s probably just because I’m a smaller woman, but they like to be safe. It’s hard to hear though, since I just did one a couple months ago.

I did this with my firstborn around this time of pregnancy, so I do think I just carry smaller (even though I don’t feel like I look “small” at all). My first baby was 6lbs 15oz when she was born at 41 weeks + 2 days. I’m having this baby at 39 weeks on April 7. I hope she’s still at least 6lbs.

Anyone have any stories similar to this?
