Does anyone have any tips for a low carb diet?

I usually have toast in the morning and now I don’t know what else to make myself for breakfast that isn’t carbs…aside from an omelette/eggs in general.

Load up on veggies and fruit. For my average dinner the plate is half veggies of some sort, sautéed or baked or mash or steamed, 1/4 protein the meat/fish and 1/4 carbs like rice or potatoes. So I’m eating more veggies than the meat or carb component. On a toast for example I’ll cut myself half an avo lay it on, some cherry tomatoes, goats cheese maybe a poached egg, and a drizzle of balsamic. (So like a smashed avo toast as the cafes sell it) So my toast is loaded w other healthy things so I’m not relying on the toast to get full. Carbs is still needed, just focus more on the protein/meat and veggie aspect. Having said that I’ll only eat that for lunch as I’ve been intermittent fasting the last few years for weight maintenance (I’ve lost 44lbs all my baby weight) it’s been awhile that I actually eat breakfast. My first meal is usually 12-1pm. I only ate brekkie back then coz I was still BF

I have never tried a low carb diet and i am not a professional. However I am also on a loosing weight journey.
I would say that your little slice of toast isn’t doing any bad, but it is important to add some source of protein next to it, like some tuna and cucumbers.

Banana pancake 1 egg 1 Banana and a splash of vanilla

Also I see a dietitian regularly and skipping carbs will make you crave them even more as you need them for brain fuel. And energy. And from what I was told the first thing you eat in the morning is what you crave the rest of the day. So if you start with junk you're gonna crave junk. If you start healthy, you're gonna crave healthy. Seems to be true for me. So far, but I understand everyone is different

Is this a mandatory diet or are you trying to lose weight. I was on a mandatory diet and I will say it will not help you lose weight if you just going to eat high calorie foods .

Finding how much carbs per meal and day helps with preparing meals.
I used to be able to have 1/4 cup of rice no salt and than it went to no carbs 😅 so my to go was 4 eggs one with yolk one without with mushrooms and spinach. Than I decided to eat grilled chicken with sautéed veggies. To be honest anything can be breakfast it depends on what you want to eat.
My fast breakfast and eventually mandatory is a protein shake but watch out for hidden sugars . One with protein isolate and these are expensive. But it’s worth not having that spike in sugar. Eggs and veggies are your best friend and spices . Along with meat. Protein is key on a low carb diet and good fats

Eggs, sausage, bacon & vegetables are all great ways to do breakfast.

Chia seed pudding (easy to make) in lieu of oatmeal with some keto granola topping (seeds and nuts rather than oats) rounds things out.

Cheese, berries, and nuts are great snackables that can be used to round out a meal, and keto, cheese, or lettuce wraps can be used instead of bread to contain things for handhelds.

Alternative day fasting is best imo.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
