Hi everyone. I’m about eight weeks postpartum and had a vaginal birth with a second-degree tear. I did have some internal stitching and the way that my skin came back together left a small skin flap. Even at eight weeks postpartum I’m still pretty tender there. What was other people‘s experiences with the second-degree tear?

This is my 2nd 2nd degree tear 🙄 first one I had pretty painful scar tissue and had to do pelvic floor PT which resolved the issue and this time I’ve had no issues and no pain

took me at least 3 months to feel like i was completely healed down there.
Super helpful! How did the pelvic floor pt help your scar tissue?

I had a third degree with stitching- definitely recommend pelvic floor. Mine did a myaofascial massage with her finger instead my vagina to break up the scar tissue. It was very tender and sore for a couple of days and it was well worth it, my OB/Midwife offered to do something similar as well, an in office procedure they will numb with lidocaine then use their two fingers to apply pressure inside and out around the area you tore to break up all the scar tissue. Assuming of course your stitches and such are all healed

Hi! I am just about 9-10 weeks postpartum and also had vaginal birth with second degree (first time giving birth and it was scary knowing I had second degree, it was so painful) I haven’t really done any special pelvic exercises. 6 week check up, Doctor said I am all well down there, and I feel pretty great with no pain for about a few weeks now. I wanna say
The kit for perineal pain helped a lot.
Hopefully the small pain you have goes away for you
