Hey guys! I’m a FTM exclusively breastfeeding my 4 week old and I’ve started to have some nipple pain. I’ve noticed for a couple of weeks now that I’ve had pretty bright pink nipples and thought maybe this was me just getting used to it still but have felt some burning and some deeper tissue pain as well. Everything I look up overwhelms me, from thrush to vasospasms to nipple damage, and how hard it is to tell a difference between them. My son also has a yeast diaper rash going on but no thrush in his mouth so at first I was leaning towards this but in my research I see it’s over diagnosed and not really a thing to some doctors? Which makes me more confused lol. Anyways major symptoms are bright pink nipples, sometimes turns white after he feeds, burning pain, worse when cold and I have been feeling unusually cold in my chest lately. Also he has a yeast diaper rash that may or may not be related to this. Has anyone else had something similar? I also don’t know if I should call my ob, primary care, or lactation specialist about this? Any advice appreciated!

I had all those symptoms minus the cold in my chest & it turned out to be a yeast infection in my nipples ☠️ My dr had to see it to diagnose and gave me some cream that I didn't have to wash off which was a lifesaver. I feel ya on the vasospasms girl it's SO bad!! No one talks about that being a possibility 😭 My daughter had no symptoms it just hurt sooo bad to nurse and my nipples we're bright pink and the vasospasms happened for no reason & when I got cold/opened the fridge. Had it like 10x a day and it def brought me to tears every time.
Hang in there & I hope your dr can help!

Look up athletes nipple(jogger nipple) this is what I suffer with xx

Vasospasms are the worst!!!! I'm so hoping I get them less with this pregnancy since it'll be late summer when they're born instead of winter! The silver nipple covers helped me with general soreness though.

I would contact a feeding specialist they’ll be more familiar than the doctor x
