Naps

Hi everyone! I know every baby is different but I'm just asking out of curiosity.....
How many naps is your little one on? And how long roughly can they stay awake between naps?
Do you just wait until you know they are sleepy? Or do you follow wake windows more?
My LOs naps are all over the shop at the moment! Some days 2 longer and sometimes 3 cat naps, it just makes the evening routine bizarre. As some night she's down 7pm other times closer to 9pm! Thanks guys 💖

We are 2 or 3 depending what time she wakes up. Today will be 3 naps. Her wake windows are anything from 2.5hrs (usually first and last) to 3.5. We just find even though last one should be the longest she just gets too upset so ends up being 2hrs 45 max. X

I’m the exact same as you, I just can’t stick to the same times for naps at the moment as she’s just not tired at the same times every day!! Generally 2 naps though and wake windows vary xx

2 naps. He wakes within half an hour (7-7.30) each day so it’s quite easy to plan a nap. Usually 2hr 45m after waking for nap 1, so say 10-11ish, then maybe 3-3.5 hours for next wake period so nap 2 at 2.30-3.30/45 then bed somewhere between 7 and 7.30ish.

We went down to 2 naps for a while but seem to be back to 3 naps now as she’s not lasting more than 2 hours in the morning recently. We never stick to nap times I just let her sleep when she’s tired, she does 11-12 hours uninterrupted during the night so I cannot conplain. She can’t stay awake for more than 3 hours still though lol. Bedtime ranges between 6-7:30 because naps are so wildly different all the time but I find earlier bedtime doesn’t equal earlier wake it doesn’t really matter what time she goes to bed x

adding to that I do try and not let her nap last 4:30 so bedtime is no later than 7… she wakes no later in the morning if she goes to bed later so I like to have my evening time 🤦🏽‍♀️

I will try to aim for wake windows of 3-3-4. Meaning two naps in between however she is second child so gets pulled around every where so the other day she had four 20min naps. As long as there is no nap after 4:30pm we are always good for 7pm sleep

Thank you everyone!!!

I generally just listen to my son but he has got himself into a good routine. He wakes about 8/8:30am then will nap 11-1 then will be awake until last half of school run so about 3:30 then he will sleep until around 5 then bed at 8:30

3 naps, wakes around 7am, nap 1 about 9.15ish, nap 2 12.30ish and nap 3 usually in the carrier for 30 mins about 5.15 with bedtime at 8.45.

We’re 2 naps and aim to do roughly wake windows of 3-3-4

Avatar

2 naps- first nap is 45 mins to 2 hours and second nap is usually the shorter one but depends on how long she sleeps for the first nap. Wake windows during the day tend to be around 3 hours and last wake window 4 hours. I go by her cues but they’re pretty consistent with these timings x

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?
