Hello, everyone. I am pregnant for the first time and have my heart set on having a home birth. I wanted to know if anyone else gave birth at home as a first time mum, what were your experiences, what happened? Give me some wisdom. :)

I’d be very careful, make sure you have medical professionals there

I had my first one at home and will have my second at home! Cannot recommend it enough!!! ☀️ best decision I made for both me and my baby for sure. Although I had a quite difficult birth with a very fast birth of 6 hours total and all of them being active pushing phase as my baby was back to back and looking up instead of tucked chin, I wouldn’t change a bit. The midwifes were super encouraging and helpful with different positions and support throughout. I got to have a shower at home and got tucked into bed by them. Next morning I came out to the living room all cleaned up by them and you wouldn’t have known a birth took place the evening before except for the bin bag in the corner. Honestly go for it!! You are not going to regret it.
Also there are loads of amazing Homebirth stories out there ☀️

I had my first at home and wouldn’t change it for the world.
Make sure you advocate for what you want, do your own research (highly recommended the KGH Hypnobirthing book) and ignore those who tell you you can’t!
Remember, homebirth is statistically safe ♥️
