I’m seeing lots of people on here asking how their 6 week checks went & 8 week jabs etc, do they contact us or do we need to call to book this in?
Baby is 5 weeks + 2 days so 6 week check should be near and I haven’t heard anything.
What does the 6 week check include?
(With my drs you can’t book in advance you have to call 8:30am for a same day appointment)

Both times my dr have called and booked my appointment in, they called this time when baby was 3w old. I’m pretty sure they called me about jabs as well. But I know some drs don’t.
Personally I’d go in and just ask them if they can book it, or call them up if you can’t get there easily. I find calling them such a faff, takes forever to get through 🤣

Also it’s 6-8 week check so done within that time. Mines at 7 weeks. It’s mainly about how you’re feeling. They talk about healing, contraception, blood pressure, clear you for driving, your bleeding / periods. Then for baby they will do a full check similar to what’s done in hospital when they’re born.

Have you registered your baby with your GP? Once your baby is registered and the 8 week mark for the jabs gets close they will give you an appointment. For the normal check up, contact them and ask to book it. My GP is the same (call in the morning) but these things do get booked in advance
Our November due date baby came early at 33+2 weighing a lovely 5lbs5oz

Has anyone moved their baby from the bassinet to the pram seat yet? I know it says 6 months but depending on head/ neck strength. Wondering how early this can be done. My LO has bad reflux and hates the bassinet so being able to move from the bassinet to the seat would probably help her a lot!

Hi,
Might be a silly question but I'm a ftm and my baby is 4 weeks, me and my mum are going to a garden centre and want to take the baby, my question is, is that okay?
Did anyone else take their baby out at 4 weeks?

Guys I guess I just need some words of encouragement right now. I’m really going through it at the moment. I’m 39+3 and I feel like I’m in the first trimester again. I’m so over this honestly I just want this baby out 😭 I’m trying to remain positive and patient but it’s really getting to me. I’ve started vomiting again, I open my bowels every time I eat, I have insomnia (hence why I’m awake at this time ) every night, every time I walk I feel like she’s about to burst through my pelvis. I’m so tired 😭

I’m expecting my first baby in around 6 weeks, I’ve always planned on a natural birth, I’m low risk, my birth plan states no intervention unless medically necessary for most issues… but now I’m getting closer I’m considering a planned C-section because I’m seeing that there are risks involved both ways, but with a C section there isn’t potentially 48+ hours of excruciating pain, and there isn’t the risk of tearing… I know recovery isn’t easy, but 1 in 4 births end in emergency c section these days anyway and I’d rather it be planned than rushed… but then am I just being a chicken? I don’t know what to do.
