I’m expecting my first baby in around 6 weeks, I’ve always planned on a natural birth, I’m low risk, my birth plan states no intervention unless medically necessary for most issues… but now I’m getting closer I’m considering a planned C-section because I’m seeing that there are risks involved both ways, but with a C section there isn’t potentially 48+ hours of excruciating pain, and there isn’t the risk of tearing… I know recovery isn’t easy, but 1 in 4 births end in emergency c section these days anyway and I’d rather it be planned than rushed… but then am I just being a chicken? I don’t know what to do.

I needed to have C-section with my first, as my placenta was covering cervix. I’m going to have an elected c-section this time..
My recovery was all ok the first time.

I recommend the periball if you do a vaginal birth, it significantly reduces tearing. I had a little tear the first time and am trying to obtain a “no-tear” birth after it was recommended by a friend who didn’t tear with either of her kids!
My birth plan was natural, open to all drugs (did it on gas and air like a crazy woman), if you mention the word induction due to risks to simply book me in for a c-section.
Having done the vaginal birth, I’m now open to an (mechanical /balloon) induction over a c section.
If you’re afraid of a long labour, avoid induction as 80% lead to c-section. Which is why I told them to simply book me in for one

For our first I'm probably one of the positive induction and natural birth story statistics.
I had an induction at 41+1 and our little boy was born the next day. I felt in control during the entire experience and well supported by the midwifes.
Now due our second and my birth asperations are exactly the same. Natural with pain relief as required.
At my 20 week scan the placenta was still over the cervix and I had to get use to the idea that I might need a C section (which as a project manager felt like the ideal right) but speaking to friends that have had both they preferred the natural birth recovery and the fact that you could get up straight away and move around. With a C section you have a catheter and would most probably only be allowed up the next day, also not allowed to drive for 6 weeks... I don't have the support system here to not be able to drive.
The thought of an emergency C section is scary but after reading "your baby, your birth" that outcome is also okay.

I’m the same. I was planning vaginal but now considering c section. I’ve had terrible pelvic girdle pain throughout my pregnancy and even though vaginal births aren’t contraindicated with this, I know some positions aren’t possible for me and could lead to more damage and pain.
Our November due date baby came early at 33+2 weighing a lovely 5lbs5oz

Has anyone moved their baby from the bassinet to the pram seat yet? I know it says 6 months but depending on head/ neck strength. Wondering how early this can be done. My LO has bad reflux and hates the bassinet so being able to move from the bassinet to the seat would probably help her a lot!

Guys I guess I just need some words of encouragement right now. I’m really going through it at the moment. I’m 39+3 and I feel like I’m in the first trimester again. I’m so over this honestly I just want this baby out 😭 I’m trying to remain positive and patient but it’s really getting to me. I’ve started vomiting again, I open my bowels every time I eat, I have insomnia (hence why I’m awake at this time ) every night, every time I walk I feel like she’s about to burst through my pelvis. I’m so tired 😭

This might sound silly but does anyone know what it feels like to have your waters broken ? Does it feel like you’ve peed your self or a gush of water ? I’m just wanting to know what to expect when it does happen 😅 or does it feel different for everyone?
