Stepping Hill or Wythenshawe?

Mums who have had a baby at either of these hospitals, would you recommend?

Yes stepping hill I had the best care when I was there but if you do get episiotomy/ tear make sure you ask for the best aftercare as I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t heal properly

I would recommend Stepping hill. I had water birth with my son. The midwifes & everyone are so lovely there :) x

I had a c section at stepping hill last November and overall it was a very positive experience. On the whole the midwives were really friendly and approachable. Small things like offering to take me to the theatre room to get an idea of it the night before to ease my anxiety. They were very supportive of my breastfeeding journey even though I really struggled at first. One midwife even hand expressed for me in the night when I was exhausted. They offered me a private room on my second night. It was also a massive plus that birth partner is able to stay overnight (not sure if they can at wythenshawe or not). Personally I would recommend it and will be choosing it if I am blessed with another baby in the future 😊

I gave birth at SH 2 weeks ago on the delivery ward room 9 (the only one with a pool) and it was overall a positive experience. Gave birth on the bed as the wireless monitors kept losing contact with baby, and was slightly rushed out of the room after delivering as another lady wanted the same room but apart from that, delivery was all good

Postnatal ward is another story however.. night staff aren’t as good as daytime.. and I didn’t find feeding support to be sufficient 😞

I had my daughter at Wythenshawe, and I couldn't ever praise them enough! They cared about my partner, gave me alternatives when things got stressful where possible, I was so reassured, and would go back in a heartbeat

I had c section at stepping hill it was all fine surgery wise but my partner stayed over night with me and that’s why I chose there as I really did need my partner to stay and needed help xxx

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Getting pregnant after c section

When did you get pregnant again after a c section? Our plan was always to have 2 under 2 but that is now out the window because I had an emergency section. I know they say 18 months and we will be sticking to it (as much as I don’t want to) but I’m curious how quickly you got pregnant after your section?
