Hi ladies, could I please have any information about a section please? I’m having my third baby and due to my previous pregnancy ending in shoulder distocia I’ve decided to have a C-section. I am so scared to have one.

I had my first baby back in October 25 via an elective c section because of slow growth rate and it was the most comfortable and easy experience! Because of it being elective, you’re totally taken care of as they have more time on their hands! They talk you through the whole process, play music for you in the background and all in all it is a very fast process! Recovery takes a bit of time but there is no pain in the delivery :)

Mine was the best! So joyous, calm and my baby was in my arms after 7 minutes. It was a uncomplicated surgery and recovery. I was putting on my own socks day 9 and getting up and down without any pain relief!
The recovery part is important the more your rest that first week, two if you can swing it the quicker you bounce back x

I had c-section first baby sept 2024. It was an emergency c section but it was really positive, the team in there were great and very reassuring as I was terrified but they put me at ease. Very uncomplicated c section and the recovery really surprised me. The only pain I remember was getting up and down off the couch and when coughing and even then it was mild not too bad. I’m leaning towards probably going for c section for my next baby if I have one

i had an emergency c section felt abit like my 14 hours of labour was for nothing but i’m definitely glad i had it recovery isn’t to bad and was quick for me i had a few complications but only because my body was so tired from labour. you’re really out of it so it’s not too bad, you can get a hang belly that’s not the actual name but i can’t remember but if u do some massages it goes away

I’ve had 2, first was emergency and second elective. Even my emergency one was an overall good experience once I got over the shock and fear! My elective was great, so calm and organized I would 100% do it again!
My recovery was also really straightforward with both and much easier than I anticipated it would be. The first 3/4 days are the hardest but keep up with pain meds and rest when you can, you’ll be fine I promise xx

I had my first baby born via elective c section due to my own personal health in July 2024 and I was absolutely terrified but the anaesthetist and the doctors were brilliant and very reassuring was a great experience. The more I got up and walked the less painful it was tbh. I would completely do it again. You will be completely fine I promise you xx

Thank you girls, I am more nervous as I’ve had to give birth at a new hospital this time due to my usual being refurbished so it’s also a new unknown too.

What would you recommend me packing in my hospital bag for a C-section? X

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
