7 month old has two bottom teeth so far and has been biting while breastfeeding, usually once he’s asleep or close to asleep. It hasn’t been too bad in general but tonight he bit me so hard multiple times on each nipple that I am dreading feeding him again. Tips on getting him not to bite me? 😭🧛🩸

Mine is 9 months and does this too. I want to wean her off feeding but its the only way I can really get her asleep as she fights sleep a lot. Following this to see if anyone has any solutions

If they bite you when awake, delatch them and put them down. If it is when close to sleep, can you try delatching them a little early and just cuddling or singing or whatever else you do to help them sleep? Or you could use nipple shields when you know you are going to be feeding to sleep. The silicone is a good teeth guard.

The binky swap might work too.
The nipple shield didn’t work great, hurt more than latching. But I’ve been exclusively pumping for a day and a half and using a bottle while I heal. Hopefully it’ll start feeling better soon!
