Wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I work 22.5 hours employed but will not receive occupational maternity pay due to not having been with the company 12 months when my baby is born. I have worked there long enough to get statutory maternity pay. I also do a few hours (1-3 hours a week) with an agency as a mentor which is also paid via PAYE. I assume I will need to stop working from both to get the SMP which is fine as the role dries up around June time when my baby is due. It's my understanding that I can get SMP for 9 months, after this time can I start just my mentoring role again? Or will I need to wait to return to all my roles at the same time? I don't plan to return to my 22.5 hour job until June 2027.

I’m wondering if we do similar work (also a mentor) as I am also in a similar position trying to figure it out! Are you with two different companies one employed and self employed?

Hello ! Once your maternity pay runs out you can do whatever you want x
Self
Employed or employed

You can also use 10 days of Kit days. I used mine with my self employed role before I left of maternity
