Anterior placenta moms — when did you start feeling consistent movement?

19 weeks 🤍

I found out I have an anterior placenta, which basically means the placenta is sitting at the front — so there’s kind of a cushion between me and baby. My OB said I probably won’t feel consistent movement until around 20–24 weeks.

I’m also not very big in general, so sometimes I catch myself thinking, “Shouldn’t I feel more by now?”

Every now and then I think I feel her… but it’s so subtle it’s hard to tell if it’s actually her or just my body doing its thing.

It’s such a weird in-between stage — knowing she’s in there growing and moving, but not having that clear reassurance yet.

Trying to remind myself this is normal. Trying to trust the process. Trying not to overthink every tiny sensation.

Any other anterior placenta moms — when did it become obvious for you?

🤍

This is my second pregnancy with an anterior placenta (I'm 18w). With my older child I was like 23ish weeks. On the plus side, the kicks you do feel are stronger so you know that's what they are when they start.

This is also my second pregnancy with anterior placenta (I’m also 18w). I was able to feel movement inside starting at about 16 weeks this time around, and 18w last time. It does take a little longer to feel from the outside (like if you put your hand on your belly).

The first movements feel a lot like gas or digestive discomfort

I wasn’t sure til last night if I was feeling him, but my fiancé had his hand on my stomach and pointed out the kick before I had a chance to even ask if he felt it. So I knew for sure at 21w5d :) felt like he was head butting my stomach

My first was with an anterior placenta and I didn't feel him until like 23 weeks and even then it wasn't super consistent. But toward the like 29 or 30 week mark they were very consistent

FTM with anterior placenta; I started feeling something at 19 weeks, and it became obvious kicks at 20 weeks. You’re right around the corner!💗

Second pregnancy here, both anterior. I would say around 19-20 weeks for both, but def more easily to spot it at night when I’m laying in bed.

FTM!! I’m currently 20w and found out I have and anterior placenta and still haven’t been able to feel her move. It is def a weird in between moment.

I started feeling paint brush type flutters at 16 weeks. It felt like a quick twinkle or tickle.

Towards the end of 16w and all through 17w, it was an occasional paint brush feeling and then one or two what felt like full body rolls. It literally felt like pressure building up.

I’m now 18 weeks and it’s more consistent rolls/ pressure and less twinkle. I’m assuming she’s getting bigger so I just feel it more. It’s at least once a day for about an hour on and off.

Now this is my first, so what I’m feeling MAY be wrong 😂 but I’m assuming she is rolling around in there at this point. Just not an overt kick.

My placenta is also in the front but mine is also low and overlapping my cervix so I have placenta previa. I didn’t feel my baby moving until a week ago and I’m 20 weeks and three days today.

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
