placenta delivery

hey guys!! new mom here, just wondering what everyone’s opinion is on letting the placenta come out naturally on its own. is their any risks for letting it stay put too long? should i let them try and get it out sooner rather then later?b

I had the injection with my first
my placenta broke apart and they had to manually take it out of me 🤢
My second was a home birth and i didnt have it , baby latched , i soon felt contractions and delivered the placenta inn about 30-40 ish mins x

Our bodies are made to get rid of it after delivery
Maybe see how you go?

I would wait for your body to do it's thing. With my first the doctor pulled the placenta out, which doesn't hurt but the risks of it are not fun. If you're not bleeding excessively I would wait for the placenta to be delivered

The injection is absolutely fine

I’m going to wait and hope it comes out within 30 mins if not welp it’s got to come out! It definitely can’t stay in. 😬 I heard it looks like a flat jelly fish… and I also heard you hardly feel it after labor and when baby’s on your chest that’s not where your mind goes most of the time. IDK!

Usually comes out itself within 40-50mins, the body expels it naturally. Everything done in hospitals these days are rushed inc the pitocin and the injection for placenta. For my second birth I had the injection and my placenta came out ripped which needed manual removal which was painful AF. 3rd pregnancy I said no to everything and let my body do what it’s spose to. Took me 2 births to learn my lesson though lol.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
