Breastfeeding still sore at 11 weeks

I'm looking for some reassurance that things can get better, my baby boy is 11 weeks old and his latch is still so bad and shallow! I'm still struggling with sore nipple's and I really don't know what to do. I'm in the UK so have been to the feeding team multiple times, I have had him checked for tongue tie as my first was and cause alot of issues for me until it was snipped. The infant feeding team have referred me on the NHS for his tongue to be checked as a second opinion but if I'm honest I just think he has a really shallow latch and I have tried everything and cannot get him to open wide enough and even if on the odd time I do he just pulls back, I'm so fed up of feeling uncomfortable during feeds and then feeling super sore after, he's also recently started to mess around at the boob and push my boob away during feeds and keeps pulling himself off and on again so definitely not helping! He sleeps through the night so I get some relief then but he feeds alot during the day, he's a big boy and is gaining and growing loads so no concern with in take. I'm just so at a loss and really not enjoying my breastfeeding journey, I will refuse to go to bottles etc so I will push through, I'm just hoping that someone has had similar and they one day it just got comfortable for them?

Have you tried nipple creams at all? Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream is my favorite. I use it for my lips as chapstick too.

We did eventually get tie releases that helped but overall my LG was just really small and therefore had a small mouth and shallow latch. It DID get better eventually!! You got this!

I had an issue that my boy was cluster feeding and made my nipples so sore I got some silverettes they worked wonders all the creams did nothing but these help heal them up in about 2 days. And I use them everynow and then as soon as they start to feel slightly sore.

Tbh id get a full feeding assessment by an IBCLC lactation consultant. Ideally in person (otherwise Lucy Webber does online ones…). It’s not super cheap but so worth it. Lactation consultants won’t just look at the first minute or so, but at the full feed.

Also look at this post re his age

Not the most pleasant for sure. I had to give up and wear the pads all the time. Fine most of the time, but every time I go without them, I would spring a leak.

Would this bug you?

My partner does his own washing (great!) and I do mine and our toddler’s.

Sometimes I put toddler’s clothes straight in the washing machine if they are ditched, with a view that I’ll do a load later.

But this morning, my partner needed to do a load of washing and instead of washing our toddler’s clothes with his (toddler had a vest, jumper, and a top), my partner took our toddler’s clothes out, put them on the side, so he could wash his own clothes???

Why not just chuck our toddler’s clothes in with his?

This has happened twice now and he’s never washed our toddlers clothes

Being on phone whilst breastfeeding or holding baby

Husband wants me to stay off my phone when breastfeeding day or night. He says the phone is too close to the baby's head. Husband is annoyed that I said No. I'm up doing nights and baby's in my arms and I should stay off my phone. Ridiculous. He said i should read or listen to something instead.

😒

Thoughts? Anyone else doing this.

FYI i'm not on my phone all feeds. Just at 3 something in the morning when I have had minimal sleep yes I am on my phone trying to stay awake.

Fighting sleep

My little girl is 15 weeks and for the last 3ish weeks has been fighting every day time nap, and bedtime.

She doesn’t have strict wake windows and I just follow her sleepy cues, which are usually rubbing eyes, yawning, and staring into space. When she gets to this point I will give her her dummy to soothe into sleep, but she resists it to the point I have to rock her whilst she screams for 20 minutes before finally falling asleep.

She only wakes twice in the night around 1:30 for a feed and again at 6:30.

Is there a way to stop this or will she just naturally learn to fall asleep peacefully one day? 😂

When did your period return postpartum? Especially if you were breastfeeding

My period still hasn’t returned an my baby turned one last month! I kinda thought it would have returned by now.. a couple weeks ago I got symptoms that had me thinking I may be ovulating but still no period. Even took a pregnancy test today just to make sure. Anyways, if you did get yours was it after you cut down on breastfeeding sessions or eliminated overnight feeds? My baby has only ever fed at breast never taken a bottle but he took right to solids at 6 months and now eats lots. He maybe breast feeds once or twice throughout the day but still wakes overnight a few times and I nurse him back to sleep.
