How often does your baby poop?

So during my last health visitor session, the lady told me that some breastfed babies can poop just once a week???

Yet mine poops at least twice a day, and yesterday it was four times! 🤣 we’re talking big ones too, like explosive, up the back kinda poops!! He’s exclusively breastfed and is almost 11 weeks old for reference.

My youngest was breastfed and only pooped like once a week. My oldest went a few times a day.

It really depends the age of the babies newborns poop so much more. When he was newborn it was like every other diaper that was a poop. But never any ā€œup the backā€ ones though the cloth diaper elastics stopped it before it ever went up the back or down the legs. All mine did was poop eat and sleep lol. He slept all day and had very small wake windows

My baby is breastfed and before starting on solids she'd poop once maybe twice a week. This wasn't always the case though. When she was as young as your baby she would also poop multiple times a day.

My baby is 3 months and EBF and is on day 5 without pooping

Mine is a little over 2 months old and poos maybe six times a day - is that not normal? It used to be more like 8 (at least based on how often we changed him), which is probably because I was overdoing the breastfeeding. I'm now trying to feed him less, and this is reflected in his output.

It was everyday for the first like 6 weeks and then it’s gone down to once everyday/ every 2 days he is also ebf and 11 weeks now :) x

Totally varies, at that age mine went pretty much every feed!

I was in a mom group and one of the babies didn’t poop for two weeks once. We used to have a poop countdown for him. She did worry about him but he was always fine.

6 weeks, ebf and after every feed, and usually just before too. I think she has shares in big nappy.

My 6m old has always gone about 5 times a day. He’s ebf, starting to Introduce solids so expecting it to slow down a bit!

When my breastfed boy was really little he was a five times a day champion shitter. Now he’s a 1-2 times kinda guy. Their habits change as their guts mature, but don’t be surprised if your breastmilk seems to go straight through them. And, yeah, the blowouts… I don’t miss those. šŸ˜–

Yeah when breastfeeding my baby hardly pooped, she was filling out too and she would be fussy when she could poop. Now that she’s on formula and she’s happy as ever and I’m cleaning poopy diapers more often🄓

Mum has asked to be at the birth and I said no…

I’m having my first baby in January and my mum asked me today whether I’d like her to be in the room alongside my husband for the birth of little boy. I could tell she asked because it’s something she really wants but I felt it was important to be honest and say that I really just want it to be my husband and I, but would absolutely love for her to be in the waiting room and the first to meet him after us.

I received a really hostile response back and she told me that her best friend witnessed her daughter’s birth and she feels like I don’t love her as much / im not listening to her feelings because I don’t want to go down that route. It then became quite a negative conversation around how she feels left behind and that I only go to her ā€˜when I need something’.

It’s made me feel really emotional and turbulent and it’s made me feel quite sad because I feel like she’s not listening to what I want and my boundaries but instead making me feel bad for what is ultimately my decision.

Has anyone had something similar happen? How did you navigate the conversation after?

Need advice

My 10 week old has always been very attracted to me from the start and early on when I put her down in the bouncer or the mat to play she woukd start to cry after 10-20 minutes. Recently its gotten alot worse to the point she starts to cry as soon as I lower her down or bring her away from me. The only time she's happy and not crying when im not holding her is nappy changes, she rarely does tummy time on the mat as she will just scream the place down (she does it on my chest instead).

Will she grow out of this or is there anything I can do to settle her when I put her down, ive tried toys, lights, singing, books but nothing works unless I pick her up. I feel bad that nothing gets done around the house or that I dont get 5 minutes to myself. Shes exclusively bf.

Owlet Sock Red Alert

Hi mums! Has anyone experienced their Owlet sock giving a red alert for oxygen levels dropping below 80%?

This has happened twice now with my 7-month-old daughter, both times while she’s been sleeping on her tummy. Each time I’ve gone straight in to check on her and she’s been absolutely fine - breathing normally, responsive and sleeping peacefully.

What’s confusing me is that the Owlet seems to work perfectly fine the rest of the night, and on other nights, showing completely normal oxygen levels. Even when I check the history after the alerts, her oxygen levels look normal, although I understand the graph shows averages.

She’s also recently had a cold and still has a slightly congested, runny nose, so I’m wondering whether that could be contributing.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you get your baby’s oxygen or breathing checked by a doctor, and was anything actually found? Or did it turn out to be false alerts from the Owlet?

Screaming only at night

Has anyone else experienced this with their little one? šŸ„¹šŸ’—

My little girl is nearly 7 weeks old and during the day she’s generally absolutely fine, but as soon as nighttime comes around, it’s like a switch flips!

She screams and cries, sometimes for hours, and it feels like nothing I do settles her. I’ve tried feeding, winding, changing, cuddling. I even started her on infacol and giving her gripe water.

The strange thing is that it’s only at night! During the day she’s a completely different baby.

Has anyone else gone through this? Is it just a phase, witching hour, colic or something else? When did it get better for you?

I’m absolutely exhausted and have no idea what else to try.
