My little girl is nearly 7 weeks old and during the day she’s generally absolutely fine, but as soon as nighttime comes around, it’s like a switch flips!
She screams and cries, sometimes for hours, and it feels like nothing I do settles her. I’ve tried feeding, winding, changing, cuddling. I even started her on infacol and giving her gripe water.
The strange thing is that it’s only at night! During the day she’s a completely different baby.
Has anyone else gone through this? Is it just a phase, witching hour, colic or something else? When did it get better for you?
I’m absolutely exhausted and have no idea what else to try.

Yes my little girl is 7 weeks tomorrow and has been doing this for the last few weeks. I think it’s a combination of all 3 things tbh, the only thing that helps is a bath and some white noise. Hang i there I believe it gets better

My LO is 6 weeks and we are really struggling with this. She will be screaming all night even after being changed then fed. Nothing seems to help and nothing seems to help getting her in her own bed.

My baby girl is exactly the same!

I promise you, it’ll get better!!
My LO had same issue
Everything changed 8 weeks onwards
He still cries but not as much as before.
I know its so distressing!! This phase will pass soon
You’re doing well💜

It definitely gets better, but it is so exhausting at the time. You're doing everything you can and your baby will know you're keeping them safe, it's just a phase a lot of babies go through as they start to learn more about the world. Tagging in and out with hubby worked, as did a warm bath (though it started again immediately after the bath 🙄) and holding him v securely while bouncing on my birthing ball. Sometimes we just distracted him with lights / alert time just to have a break from the screaming! You can do it, and it won't last much longer as it seemed to stop for me around 7.5 weeks x

It’s witching hour! Very normal and normally ends around 12 weeks x

My little girl is 9 weeks on Tuesday and she sreams and cries on a night time due to collic i have changed to a colic formula i have tried infocol.gripe water and colic drops nothing work

I have witching hour every night and sometimes goes on longer than an hour like tonight she wouldn’t feed, cuddle, her own bed, dummy nothing now she has fell asleep on me with a feed now due

My little girl does this she’s 10 weeks this coming Thursday we’re preying it stops soon! Hang in there mum you are doing great ❤️

Every baby is different, but I found with ours she was having a bit of an overload by the end of the day and trying to hold / comfort / offer more feeds etc were heightening it - I changed her evening to a dark room, no stimulation, a bath first too, swaddle suit after some skin to skin to help reset her, and actually putting her down on her own in her cot for a minute and giving her the space to stretch and kick before picking her back up (apparently when tired, the heat from our own body when being held and our heart beat can over stimulate). Their little nervous systems get totally overloaded by the end of the day it can come to a head or at least for our baby that was true!

I’m having my first baby in January and my mum asked me today whether I’d like her to be in the room alongside my husband for the birth of little boy. I could tell she asked because it’s something she really wants but I felt it was important to be honest and say that I really just want it to be my husband and I, but would absolutely love for her to be in the waiting room and the first to meet him after us.
I received a really hostile response back and she told me that her best friend witnessed her daughter’s birth and she feels like I don’t love her as much / im not listening to her feelings because I don’t want to go down that route. It then became quite a negative conversation around how she feels left behind and that I only go to her ‘when I need something’.
It’s made me feel really emotional and turbulent and it’s made me feel quite sad because I feel like she’s not listening to what I want and my boundaries but instead making me feel bad for what is ultimately my decision.
Has anyone had something similar happen? How did you navigate the conversation after?

My 10 week old has always been very attracted to me from the start and early on when I put her down in the bouncer or the mat to play she woukd start to cry after 10-20 minutes. Recently its gotten alot worse to the point she starts to cry as soon as I lower her down or bring her away from me. The only time she's happy and not crying when im not holding her is nappy changes, she rarely does tummy time on the mat as she will just scream the place down (she does it on my chest instead).
Will she grow out of this or is there anything I can do to settle her when I put her down, ive tried toys, lights, singing, books but nothing works unless I pick her up. I feel bad that nothing gets done around the house or that I dont get 5 minutes to myself. Shes exclusively bf.

I think me & little lady are both getting poorly & I am stressed out, she also has her 12 week jabs on Monday and it was honestly awful after her 8 week ones.
Someone tell me looking after a poorly baby + jabs + being poorly yourself whilst solo parenting day & night isn’t as bad as i am imagining (feed my delusions) 🥲
