My 10 week old has always been very attracted to me from the start and early on when I put her down in the bouncer or the mat to play she woukd start to cry after 10-20 minutes. Recently its gotten alot worse to the point she starts to cry as soon as I lower her down or bring her away from me. The only time she's happy and not crying when im not holding her is nappy changes, she rarely does tummy time on the mat as she will just scream the place down (she does it on my chest instead).
Will she grow out of this or is there anything I can do to settle her when I put her down, ive tried toys, lights, singing, books but nothing works unless I pick her up. I feel bad that nothing gets done around the house or that I dont get 5 minutes to myself. Shes exclusively bf.

this is very normal! before 6 months, babies don’t realise that they’re their own separate person from their mother so they don’t handle being separated too well! one thing that helped my little one is her toni box in her bouncer! she’d get bored very easily which turned to upset quickly, this kept her happy and distracted much longer! do you have black and white cards and other tummy time toys, my little girl loved it when i introduced mirrors and things xx

She will grow out of it and soon you will miss it when they find their independence. Very normal!
If you are struggling to get stuff done etc, try a baby carrier. They still think that they are part of you and will get distressed when not with you x

I know its hard at the time but what I'd give to snuggle a newborn all day now my children are 5&10yrs old

It’s a baby leap, it’ll pass …we’ve just gone through it, they have a massive grow spurt around this age so they can be more clingy, fussy, cluster feed or fight sleep …once it passes you’ll notice new skills, mine started laughing after the last baby leap
Hello!
Has anyone had this with their little one?
Is it urgent or can it wait until monday for gp?
He is not in distress and breathes normally

I’m having my first baby in January and my mum asked me today whether I’d like her to be in the room alongside my husband for the birth of little boy. I could tell she asked because it’s something she really wants but I felt it was important to be honest and say that I really just want it to be my husband and I, but would absolutely love for her to be in the waiting room and the first to meet him after us.
I received a really hostile response back and she told me that her best friend witnessed her daughter’s birth and she feels like I don’t love her as much / im not listening to her feelings because I don’t want to go down that route. It then became quite a negative conversation around how she feels left behind and that I only go to her ‘when I need something’.
It’s made me feel really emotional and turbulent and it’s made me feel quite sad because I feel like she’s not listening to what I want and my boundaries but instead making me feel bad for what is ultimately my decision.
Has anyone had something similar happen? How did you navigate the conversation after?

I think me & little lady are both getting poorly & I am stressed out, she also has her 12 week jabs on Monday and it was honestly awful after her 8 week ones.
Someone tell me looking after a poorly baby + jabs + being poorly yourself whilst solo parenting day & night isn’t as bad as i am imagining (feed my delusions) 🥲

Has anyone else experienced this with their little one? 🥹💗
My little girl is nearly 7 weeks old and during the day she’s generally absolutely fine, but as soon as nighttime comes around, it’s like a switch flips!
She screams and cries, sometimes for hours, and it feels like nothing I do settles her. I’ve tried feeding, winding, changing, cuddling. I even started her on infacol and giving her gripe water.
The strange thing is that it’s only at night! During the day she’s a completely different baby.
Has anyone else gone through this? Is it just a phase, witching hour, colic or something else? When did it get better for you?
I’m absolutely exhausted and have no idea what else to try.
