Please be gentle with me.
My son has always nsursed to sleep and nursed through the night. No one told me I should night wean. No one told me he had lip tie, until recently. I'm feeling shitty and know that its all my fault that my almost 3 year old has four damaged teeth. Typical "bottle rot". The dentist has tried to be nice but, has ultimately said that Inshould wean him and put him in his own room to cry it out. I didn't argue with the dentist because I'd be wasting my breath and it was him (and his assistant) "against" me. They were honestly very sweet but just have different style to me. I'm too soft and sensitive.
Other health professionals (health visitor) said that baby will self wean and that in her home country its normal for babies to nurse up to 7 years old.
I want hin to get all the goodness and I don't particularly want to wean him but feel I should. Not explicitly fromnthe dentist but especially after the appointment yesterday.
I struggle with change and I'm quite possibly on the autism spectrum. I just don't know what next. I've had a small chat with my son and told hin that he can only have a little bit of milk and then we clean teeth. I hugged him and told him for an hour how much I love him. Then I cried. Then during the night I gave in.
For those that weaned previous kids and struggled, how tf do you get over it enotionally, especially when you have preexisting conditions (for me its epilepsy and depression as well as hEDS- I think mentally I'm just really struggling to adapt)
PS. I'M SPECIFICALLY ASKING FOR ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE QUESTION. NOT DEBATING WETHER OR NOT NURSING TO SLEEP IS GOOD OR BAD ETC. I'VE RESEARCHED AND HAD OTHERS LECTURE ME ENOUGH.
Also, if your kid had liptie and or tooth decay on front teeth what did you do?
Dentist says his palate is narrow and he does have an overbite. Says he will likely need braces at 12. đDid anyone do myofacial exercises and avoid this?

You gotta stop letting him nurse to sleep. You give him milk then brush his teeth and go to bed. Thats the best way to stop tooth decay from getting worse. The sugar and protein from milk/ breast milk or even formula is gonna cause tooth decay.

Nursing to sleep doesnât cause tooth decay - breastmilk isnât like cows milk or a bottle and milk doesnât pool on the front teeth it goes to the back of the roof of the mouth.
Sugar, bacteria on the teeth, improperly brushed teeth and sometimes genetics cause tooth decay. You shouldnât be brushing teeth within 30 mins of any food or drink either side otherwise youâre essentially destroying enamel as you brush.
Please donât let anyone blame nursing - lots of children nurse for years and have perfect teeth. It isnât nursing x

I think ultimately itâs going to be very hard emotionally no matter what you do. For me whenever I need to do something hard that I know is best for my daughter I find it helps to be constantly saying âthis is for your own good. This is what is best for youâ over and over in my head while sheâs crying. Sort of like a meditation that way Iâm able to keep myself as calm as possible. It might also help if someone else does bedtime that way heâs not looking for milk, but thatâs not an option for everyone.
I also think you should work on forgiving yourself for the mistakes youâve made that got you here. From reading your post it seems like youâre placing a lot of blame on yourself. You didnât know that breastfeeding him to sleep was affecting his teeth. It was an honest mistake. We all make mistakes. What matters is that now that you know youâre doing what you need to make it better. And in the long run catching it at 3 is really early. Youâre doing an amazing job as a mom.

I suddenly weaned at a year & a half because of a miscarriage. I knew the hospital would give me medications I didn't want to pass to my son. Complications went on for weeks & I needed surgery in the end.
I offered my son to breastfeed after a couple days had passed without BF & he suddenly was no longer interested.
He still wants to spend time with me, I am still his favourite person, he is my shadow & he doesn't love me any less because he no longer has milk from mummy.
It was hard for me but I'm glad I made the choice for his benefit.
I'm proud of how long I nursed for & nothing can change that.
I stopped feeding to sleep once he had his first tooth so I could brush them before bed that was really tough but we got through it you can too. We read stories & I've just started giving him a lavander massage after a bath (3yr old) to help him wind down he loves having his ears rubbed.
Sometimes it's nice to have a break & not put my LO to bed I still see him 98% of the day, if you have someone that can help.

Try to focus on the good side of the journey you've had, it's amazing all the nutrients you've been able to provide him with.
It was always going to come to an end one day, take pictures to keep & remind yourself what a beautiful time it was to bond, there are many more good things to come xx
How are we dealing with our Sour Patch Sons? My 2 yr old knows how to push all my buttons and I am getting to my wits end. He is tall for his age so he is able to get into everything. A lot of things in our house is locked up but I feel i shouldn't have to lock every cabinet, drawer, closest. I have a 2 month old and the toddler likes to get into things while I am feeding. I almost feel like I need to lock the toddler up. Also the toddler is acting out and when he does he does something bad he then acts all cute and kind. Or he knows he does something bad and just laughs when i get upset. He also tells me he is scared when he doesn't want to do something like go to bed, to the potty, eat dinner. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I am a children's social worker so 36 hours full time 9-5. Background has always been kids ( sen worker in schools, teaching assistant, higher teacher assistant in an sen school, family support worker in social care SEN and now my current role as a children's social worker.
However now I have 2 kids 1 2.5yrs and a 2 week old. I want to just utilise the 30 hours funded childcare.
Unsure what jobs to go into. I have a lots of suggestions from AI but now overwhelmed because there's so many options.
Can anyone think of good roles to support my my kids doing term time hours at a nursery.
Somethings I was thinking of maternity support worker- 8pm-8am I was in hospital for a few days so got talking to staff who are parents and do this job because it allows them to do pick up and drop off without issues. I was thinking a school social worker ( hard to get) discharge social worker at a hospital ( never see these advertised though) im thinking something like a hospital because its 24 hours so can be flexible with shift pattern i think! Anyway any suggestions are welcome.

Has anyone been to Peppa Pig World / poultons park on their own with a toddler before? I want to take my 2 year old (25 months) but his Dad doesn't have any annual leave left, and it seems quite expensive to ask grandparents to come along.
Also, would you take a buggy? I fear having to chase after my toddler with a buggy in tow would be a pain, so thinking not?

Am I being lazy? Iâm 23 weeks pregnant⊠cooking isnât my favorite thing anymore Iâm always just wanting to be in bed. I work from 4:30pm to 12:30am and get home after 1am. I end up going to sleep around 2-3am after showering and trying to force myself to sleep.
My husband has been complaining I rather buy food out than cook when I truly have no energy to cook. He said plenty of woman get up to make sure their husband has a meal to come home too. But I just donât have the energy!
I used to wake up in the mornings (before this job) and make him breakfast and have lunch ready for him packed up at 5:30am for him to take to work. I stopped. Again just trying to get rest in. Idk how to find the energy or if Iâm just making this up in my head. Definitely starting to make me feel like a shitty wife.
Also I did complain about dishes. Sunday night I cleaned the whole house, did All laundry folded, and cleaned the kitchen but left dishes in the sink thinking he would see how I did everything I just needed him to wash those dishes. He claimed I cooked made a mess and didnât wash the dishes I used⊠you would think if I cooked he would meet me half way instead Iâm being blamed.
How do yall do it?
