Breastfeeding

Given this is my second baby, you would think I remembered from the first.. but I feel like a first time mum again🤣
My girl is a good feeder, lots of wet and dirty nappies so I’m happy she’s getting enough. I am only 3 days PP but my milk started coming in properly yesterday.

My question is, she often falls asleep at the breast when feeding. Should I be trying to wake her every time to continue feeding?/ how do I know if she’s just full or if she’s fallen asleep…
I hope that makes sense!

At this age I have been stripping my boy down to just a nappy or a vest during feeds so he stays awake s bit longer, just til hes back over birth weight. But if shes had a good long feed then falling asleep at the breast is a good thing :)

The midwife asked me these qs:
Does your boob feel empty after she’s done? If it does and she’s having at least 8 feeds in 24 hours then she will be fine. I got a lot more confidence from the weigh ins on day 5 and 14 so hopefully that will validate that she’s getting enough for you! This is my 2nd too but he’s much bigger and hungrier than my 1st! Good luck xx

I’m a second time mum too and can relate but You can tell they’re drinking the milk through the sucking motion even whilst asleep.

I personally don't, and wouldn't unless I had concerns around nappies or weight gain. If everything there is ok I wouldn't be waking her up when she falls asleep.

I usually change my LO in between boobies. He usually falls asleep on the first, I’ll burp and change him which wakes him up and then offer him the second boobs and then it’s whatever he takes from there. I think if there’s no weight issues and there’s enough wet/dirty nappies, it’s all down to your own judgement 🥰

I was waking her but she’s back at birth weight now at 5 days old so I have stopped

No she has fallen asleep because she is full. I'm 3 wks pp and my boy falls asleep he uses my bike as a dummy and milk.

He kind off comes off the boob half awake, mouth open and looks fulfilled.

Let her sleep she will wake up soon for another round so enjoy the break. I feel like a zombie haha x

Stroller recommendations

Hi everyone

Can I please ask for stroller reviews from anyone who loves their strollers especially if you push it on cobblestones or rough terrain.

I have a mama’s and papas Flip TX3 which I absolutely hate! Everytime I use it I get back pain from steering it. It’s also super bumpy and makes me worry about baby but she seems not to mind. Baby is 4 months and we have only used it 5 times. If you have a Flip TX3 , does it get better when baby is older and can sit up?

I chose it because of the lie flat option as I didn’t get a bassinet and also because its foldable and we live on the first floor.

I really need something which is those two things but with great suspension.

Thank you

Struggling

My baby just turned 3 weeks and although I was doing so well at the start, I feel like I’m being worn down now. I’m exclusively breastfeeding and my life being constant 2 hour increments of feeding, burping, changing and trying to soothe a fussy baby, then grabbing whatever scraps of sleep I can when he goes down is so exhausting. One of my boobs has now started hurting (not the nipple, the boob itself) and I’m so stressed at night trying to get through without my partner waking as he has work the next day. I’m not sure what I’m asking for, I suppose I’m just venting to feel less alone. I’m so grateful to have my baby, but this is so hard and I’m scared.

Sleep/transferring to next to me crib

Any tips pls , baby is only 5 days old, had a bit of a rough road so far with her having antibiotics, jaundice etc. she’s breastfed.

We’re now home and she absolutely will not be down in the crib at night. She’ll stay there for 20 mins then absolutely scream. I’ve tried a hot water bottle , white noises etc

I’m so tired overnight from this as she’ll only, she’ll only Fall asleep when held, I don’t want to co sleep x
